worried i take after mum
Im 19 was on the depo injection for 1 year , havent been using protection since i came off it in Aug 2011. My mum had alot of trouble conceiving me, what could be the reasons for me not becoming pregnant? please help Becoming really discoraged thinking im never going to be a mum

If you were my patient, I would advise you that the effects of the depo provera do not typically last more than 18 months. After that amount of time had passed, I would then allow one year to pass without any contraception before I would be too concerned. Finally, if that time had passed, I would begin a work up. I start with ovulation predictors and a semen analysis.
You can actually do both of those tests for yourself with over the counter test kits now, although I would encourage you to see a fertility specialist.
Usually it just takes time!
