100mg Clomid

Hi Ladies,

Ok I have kinda asked this question already.

I took my first day of 100mg clomid last night.  I took 2 pills at one time (50mg each)

My prescription just says take 2 pills daily for 5 days.

Is it ok to take them both at one time or should I take one in the am and one in the pm?

I haven't had a chance to call the doc and they still don't open for a few hours.

How did you take 100mg Clomid when you were on it????? (for the ladies who have)

Hello, it sounds to me like they may have tested too early?  I haven't heard of them testing a LH surge blood test either.  My OB does a cd21 progesterone test to see if my levels are up for post ovulation!  If you ask me, that OPK looks positive (not like I have ever seen one before:-)...but if it was mine I would say it is positive!  Good luck!

You're welcome.  Yes it can be too early. I would definitely try to re schedule to get it tested again.  Is this your first time having everything checked?  I'm asking because I was wondering if you knew when you ovulated before?  Anyways, please let me know how it goes!  Best wishes!! :)
If you have anymore questions please feel free to ask. :)

Thanks for the info. I am now on cd17. My main question is, can the blood read negative, but men still o that month just after test? Or will the test detect an o for the month? Thank you so much

Loveamiracle,
I'm sorry that I can't give you a definite answer but I do know that women with PCOS have a hard time Ovulating.
They could've checked you to soon.  I normally ovulate on CD 17 or CD 18.  I didn't ovulate until CD 20 this time.  I know it's only 2-3 days later but it's still later than normal.  Anyways, can they re check you?   I wished I could help more and I really hope someone else can.  I would just get them to recheck you in a couple of days.  What cd are you on now?  Good luck hun!!

Impatientforbaby,
Thank you so much!  Good luck to you as well!  I hope you have a nice and comfy lining too! :D

I am jumping in here too :)

I just posted a new question about this, but anyhow I will again the more answers the better :)

I started clomid 50mg this month for the first time. My RE had me go in to check my levels on CD15. My LH surge came back negative, I am now on CD17. Is it possible that she checked my levels too soon?? Am I still able to O after a negative blood test? Or would the blood detect a surge that is coming as well?

I am really comfused about this and I completely lost hope for this month, but now I am wondering if it is possible she tested too soon. I have been reading and it seems most women get their levels checked on CD21, and if that is true I am way off :)

I also have PCOS and am on metformin so I am wondering if that would interfere with the day I 'should' get a positive Lh surge. I don't know, just looking for some answers.

Thanks Ladies

Thanks...as you can tell I am new to online chatting/posting. I just don't know what is kosher or not yet.

I hope that this is not the case either. I have been looking online, and haven't seen this as a side effect anywhere. I go for my trigger shot and US in about a week. Hopefully everything is comfy cosy for implantation and there are lots of little follicles! Good luck to you too!

Nah, a thin lining isn't good at all.  They want it nice, thick and comfy in there.  I hope that's not the issue with you nor myself or anyone else on here using clomid.  I would definitely be keeping a check on that!  Good luck to you! :)
Oh and btw, don't worry about jumping in. That's what these posts are here for.  People to ask questions or respond. :D

I know I am jumping in, but I have been taking the 50 mg clomid for the past 4 months. I have been having the insanely heavy periods too. My nurse at the clinic said something to me in passing last month, and I am a bit worried. She mentioned that the clomid may be making my lining too thin, so it will decrease implantation. Have you heard about this? I originally thought that a thin lining was good?

Mine was really bad too this past month. When they had me on the 50 mg and I got my period after that it was horrible.  Really heavy unlike all the other times.  The wonderful women here told me that was good. It meant I had a healthy lining and the clomid was helping.  I hope that's the case for you.  Praying you O this time!! :D

Hey Hun!

You did the right thing. I was on 100 mg this past cycle and they only had 50 mg pills so I had to do like you, take 2 everyday for 5 days. The pharmacy told me that since they only had the 50 mgs to take them both at the same time. :)   Good luck hun!!  Sending early SSBD!! :D
