1st round of clomid, no response

okay, a little bit about my myself, I'm 29, have never had regular periods.  I only ever got a period when on the BC pill.  My OB/GYN put me on provera to induce a period and then clomid 50 mg days 3 - 7.  I'm pretty sure I did not ovulate. It's CD 40, no period and neg. HPT.  What is wrong with me!?  My Dr. is so vague, says it's a hormonal imbalance.  What's next?

Hey all, Just came on here to say, I took clomid this cycle and I'm pregnant, so stick with it!!!!!

if tests show u didnt ovulate your dr will up the dose. mine did and i fell that round of clomid with my son. good luck.

I find it very odd that my Dr. didn't want to do an ultrasound or any other testing before putting me on clomid.  She did an internal and told me that I did not have a cyst but how can they be sure of that.  I do get dull pains occassionally on either side in the area of my ovaries.  I had blood work done a few months ago and all I was told was that the blood work indicated that I had not been ovulating.  Big suprise!

My rec is to go see a reproductive endocrinologist. They can usually be found or affiliated with fertility centers or clinics. My OB was also vague and quite honestly did not have the time to deal with my fertility problems (the gals who were already prego were more of a priority in his day to day), so i went to see an RE who was FABULOUS!! And, we got answers and have a plan now, so at least I can sleep easy knowing I have a great advocate in my RE. Good luck!!!
