My RE did all of those tests on DH & I prior to trying IVF. All of the lab work was picked up by my insurance.
I've heard of this....when I had my 3rd miscarriage they did a lot of blood work about 6 big vials worth and about $3300 in billed charges to insurance company. It was a series of tests that they did, but there's one called Igm IgA...something like that and anyways I tested high for anticardiolipid antibodies, so I went to hematologist who says I have Antiphosphoid Lipid Syndrome and I'm suppose to have anticoagulation therapy with confirmed pregnancy.
Anyways...I've been getting pregnant, but am losing them (4 m/c) now. I know they're implanting, but not sticking!
However, I'm not 100% convinced the baby aspirin a day and anticoagulation therapy is my real problem. I think it's my age.
For what it's worth the ins co wil pay for you test.
They said for me that they didnt know if I had that same problem and before I'd go into any testing (since it's sooo expensive) I would just take baby aspirin...maybe ask your doc about that...its very cheap and easy.
I just want to say goodluck on your next ivf.. I did 2 also. first one got pregnant but m/c on 7 wks. then second one was failed. I asked my Re if they can do some testing to me to find out why they are not sticking, they said I dont need it, because I got pregnant on the first time.
I was also thinking of the same thing about the "natural killer cells" but they dont think so..
I wish you luck.. and keep us updated...
