Hot flashes are due to the fact that Clomid is an Anti-Estrogen drug, so it acts to lower Estrogen levels in the body, almost like a woman entering menopause. Since the same symptom occurs in women with menopause, that would be a real reason why hot flashes may occur.
I got the hotflashes 3 weeks ago and a friend told me i ws ovulating. It ws my first experience and i han't been using the pill ever since i came back from the hospital in June. i had an ectopic and they had to remove my left ovary and tube. I think i'm pregnant again, and i'm so scared of having another ectopic. This was not planed by i would love to have a baby.If my ovulation started on the 19th of Sept and i had intercourse with my fiance on the 24th was it the right time?
I have the same question - I dont think i have ovulated before, but this is my first month on CLOMID and while i was taking the pills I did not feel any different than I usually do, but according to my chart I'm supposed to be ovulating now and my hot flashes are out of control. I took the ovulation test (clear blue) and there is no surge - but i feel like a 25-year-women going through menopause over here. Is this normal?
I never knew when I O. BUT I did get hot flashes when I was on clomid. They would happen especially at night. My dh was suprised how bad they use to get. I am glad I don't get them anymore.
Hi for myself I try to obserbe myself by measure my basal body temperature.....I keep temping everyday morning the first thing when I get up. (it will acurate)
When you take about 2-3 cycle you will relize your temp in body change (because of the level of homone Estrogen and progesteroen play role in your body)
This is a trick....when you see the day the your temp dip (going high about 4-5 degree F than usual day, it is mean you ovulate this time)...then if you are trying to conceive do not let this time pass by do nothing.....so you have to remember and learn from your last cycle and try to catch up before the time ovualtion pass.....For myself I will test opk (Ovulation test kit) for a few days before I think I am going to ovulate (just incase and make sure it won't pass the important time) and I observe your cervical fluid or cervical mucus when it become eggwhite that is your most fertile time....this eggwhite will come prior just when you are going ovulate....if you already pass ovulate your cervical fluid will turn to dry and your temp will going high as you can see by your chart.
So try to learn now or you can go to the www.fertilityfriend.com I learn a lot form there and I know my body self a lot. No one can know yoursefl well than you....observe yourself and it is fun ! enjoy and good luck.
Actually the hot flashes can be related to Clomid - it is part the wonderful of the side effects of Clomid. I had very bad hot flashes and sweaty nights (yeak) everytime I was on Clomid. Anyway good luck ;-)
Not everyone feels ovulation. Actually very few women do. I'v ebeen off bc pills about 9 months now. I can tell ovulation now from months of interpreting body signs after comparing charts, cervical mucus and OPK sticks. Maybe you can try OPK's since you can't chart. You could also look out for an increase in your CM or a change in the consistency to a more wet or lubricative feel. For me, it turns VERY watery right before ovulation and not exactly egg white. Also, my strange symptom is that my underarms get hot flashes right after, kinda like a quick sweat or whatever only for a minute or two.
Good luck!
