3 months since AF, 5 days of spotting in Nov, spotting again in Dec, neg hpt. What's going on??
Hi everyone. I'm currently waiting for my new insurance cards to get here so in the mean time I'm looking for advice from you all! :)
I'm having a problem with irregular periods. I normally don't stress about a missed period because of the irregularity but this time things are a bit different. I haven't had a period since mid September. I had five days of light spotting starting Nov 22nd that began with a red streak in my cm, then 3 days of pink cm, and then brown cm. It definitely wasn't a period. Now for the past 4 days I've had brown spotting, it hasn't changed color and there hasn't been any new red blood. I have never had pink spotting before and I usually spot brown for 1 day and then start AF, but AF doesn't seem to be coming at all. I've had very mild cramps & lower backaches, some breast tenderness, headaches and definite moodiness but still no AF. I've taken a lot of pregnancy tests over these 3 months but they have all been negative. I'm at a loss at this point.
In October of 2010 I went to my gyn and had blood tests done to check for any problems that may have been causing my irregularity. They all came back normal. I also had an ultrasound done at the time to check for cysts but they didn't find anything abnormal at all. I stopped my birth control in January because of headaches & nausea, but I had pretty normal periods for the rest of the year (my cycle did get a longer though). I was more stressed during the beginning of the year anyway, so I don't know why my period would stop coming now. I even started taking maca capsules to try and balance my hormones if that was the problem. I'm only 20 and I'm at a healthy weight. I did recently lose weight (went from 122 to 108 over a few months) but nothing major. My boyfriend and I have been together for 5 years so we don't worry about protection that much.
Has anyone had an experience like this before? I've posted on other forums but not many people have had much to say. I'm just looking for any kind of idea as to what's going on until I can get to my doctor. Does this sound hormonal? Could I be pregnant even though I've gotten neg results? Has anyone been pregnant and spotted like that with a neg hpt result? I normally wouldn't worry because I am irregular but the spotting last month & this month is very new to me. I really appreciate any responses!

Thank you for the kind words :) As soon as I get my insurance card I'm definitely going to the doc. I just wonder what could be going on
