I took a similar medication, Letrozole, after having no luck with Clomid. My progesterone tests were better with Letrozole, and I was told that it doesn't thin out the uterine lining like Clomid does. I noticed fewer side effects with it compared to Clomid, too. I only tried it for 2 cycles before my obgyn referred me to an RE, though.

Anastrozole and Letrozole (Femara) are both aromatose inhibitors, so I think they work the same way. Here's the link on Letrozole:
