Anovulatory cycles

I've noticed that 2 out of the 3 cycles I've been monitoring (via Clear Blue Easy), I didn't ovulate. Is this typical or is it indicating I need to see my doc?

yeah if you are taking the progesterone that could definitely be your issue.  You're only supposed to take that after ovulating as that is what spikes at ovulation (causing your temp to rise) and needs to stay high POST ovulation to sustain a pregnancy, when progesterone drops your temp drops and you get your period... if you didn't ovulate yet and are taking it that could definitely be messing things up. It's possible that if you are taking the progesterone prior to ovulating you are delaying ovulation and what you are seeing as a "period" is actually breakthrough bleeding from your lining getting too thick. You should definitely talk to your GYN though as I'm sure a lot of how the progesterone is affecting you depends on the dosage etc.  Weaker doses probably shouldn't be affecting you so dramatically and it may be some other issue here.  Good luck!

Thank you for responding. You had sound advice and I should be temping too but just too stubborn hoping this whole TTC would be much easier this time around. So now I'm going with the lack of increase in cervical mucus which would indicate I didn't ovulate again. What I lacked to mention on my previous post is that I'm on progesterone which I'm guessing I don't need to administer if I don't ovulate?????? I'm spotting  & have been since 2days before I expected to ovulate.  I'm a hormonal mess. Perhaps I'm already menopausing? at 37???? I left a message for my GYN to call me back but sometimes it takes her a week to return a call! After re-reading the monitor's manual, I saw that there's a helpline which I will call tomorrow and hope they can also tell me something to guide me.

Is your cycle regular?  If so I would wonder about your monitor.  Are you seeing any other signs of ovulation like increase in cervical mucus, temp, etc?  Usually when women have anovulatory cycles they are highly irregular where their hormones peak just enough to get a period x number of days later, but normally when this happens the cycle is drawn out and there are several times where it appears the woman may be ovulating etc.  Also if the bleeding was irregular it might be considered breakthrough bleeding rather then a period etc.  Where you've just gone so long without AF that your lining builds up too much and some sloughs off.  I guess the short answer would be yes, you should see your doctor. At least to confirm what's going on if nothing else.  Otherwise, I would maybe try an Ovulation predictor kit for a month along with your monitor to see if maybe your monitor is malfunctioning and/or monitor other signs that could indicate ovulation like cervical mucus/temp/cervix, etc.  Good luck!
