Any PCOS women have success on Metformin and Clomid?

I've been diagnosed with PCOS recently and will start Metformin and Clomid.  I've heard the chances of having a healthy pregnancy with these meds are 40% for PCOS women which isn't too bad but wish it was more like 80%  : )  Just wanted to hear any success stories to help cheer me up. Thanks

Hi I'm 26 and my husband and I have been married for 5 years and have been TTC for 3 years now. We have tried a few different things, up until now, more the natural way (taking vitex) I've lost 10kg's, still need to lose probably another 30 to get to where I should be, but we just don't want to keep having to wait. I'm going to see a GP in a few hours and I'm gonna ask her to put me on Clomid and Metformin, really hoping it works!! My periods are so irregular though, so when would I know to take the Clomid? This is all just so confusing, we just want to have a baby so bad. My husband is 30 in a couple weeks and I really want him to be a Dad before he is 31. Please pray for us (Melanie and Kris) it would mean a whole lot. Wishing lots of baby dust to you all also xxoo

hi there! we're the same. I also read a lot of forums before I post in this website.. to get more inspiration. I just want to update everyone that I ovulated this cycle! (thank God)..I just wanted to know if there are others who took the same set of meds that i took for this cycle, 2x a day of 500mg metformin (continuous), 3x a day of 50mg clomid (for 5 days), dexamethasone .625mg once a day for 7 days, premarin 50mg 2x a day for 7 days and duphaston 10mg 2x a day for 7 days and a trigger shot of hcg. Its a lot, i know, but I just think that I have no choice but to take it all to finally become pregnant.. I am happy I ovulate but at the same time, very anxious and nervous that I would found out Im not pregnant.. Im in the two week wait right now, and the waiting is killing me. Im excited, at the same time afraid! talk about mixes emotions!

I have been ttc for almost a year now I have been taking clomid for 6+ months. I have also started on metformin around february. Still no success. I am really depressed and have been pregnant before so I don't understand what the problem is. The next step is IUI but its very expensive and I am afraid that will fail also. Anyone have success with clomid and metformin? I am overweight so I am sure that does not help but I was around the same weight when i was pregnant before so what the heck? Can anyone cheer me up and give me hope?

Hey Everyone! I am also in the very same boat. I began my period when I was 11, had periods like clockwork every sinlge month until I turned 18, although the periods were painful and heavy, they came on time every month. I am now almost 25, and my husband and I have been TTC for almost 4 years. I have had laser hair removal and electolysis to rid the extra hair. I also have very painful, heavy irregular periods. I have been to the doctor to be DX with PCOS, but I had to wait for my period to come to do the blood test, after 3 months, I finally got a period. I go for my blood test and semen analyses for my husband on June 13, then I will be prescribed Metformin and Clomid from there as my OB/GYN and I discussed. I just hope it happens fast, we have been waiting for a long time. My husband and I have agreed to not tell anyone if we concieve until after the 1st trimester, so hang tight. Good luck to all.!!!
