Anyone ever had or heard of 2 ectopic preg on same side?

tmv
Hi there,
My sister, who is ten hours away and I can't afford a plane ticket right now, just had another tubal pregnancy. This one ruptured and she bled internally and had to have emergency surgery and transfused with 2 units of blood. BUT, she had a tubal pregnancy in Oct '06. The dr said that she removed MOST of the fallopian tube on that side.  Why wouldn't she remove all of it???  Has anyone ever heard of anything like this. I would assume that it is very rare.  They so want to have children, he's 37 and she's 34.  Her left side seems to be just fine.  Is she more apt to having another tubal pregnancy on the "good" side now?  Sorry about all of the questions, just feeling like my hands are tied right now and care so much about her. She takes sectral (beta-blocker) for torre saddes de pointes arrhytmias. I don't know if the meds would have anything to do with it. Any input would be so helpful.  Thank you so much in advance. tmv

I just had an ectopic pregnancy resulting in the removal of my right Fallopian tube. My Dr told me that statistically a repaired tube will greatly increase your chances of another ectopic because of scar tissue. My Dr also assured me that when he did the laproscopy he would only take my tube if the left one was clear. I have now also done some research into adhesions and scar tissue as I have had experience with a hands on technique called myofascial release. There is a PT in Florida doing this work called ' clear passage' with outstanding results. Good luck everyone .

I also have had 2 ectopic pregnancies. "ne of them nov 18 08 and january 22 09. Less than 2 mont apart and the second surgery they removed my left tube. They were both on the same side. It seams they set me up for the second one. It doesn't take much to figure the scar tishue from number 1 would result in the same thing. But luckily after the 2nd one 8 months later and 1 month of trying I conceived my daughter I'm 20 years old and am lucky I lived through both these surgeries. My daugter is now 5 mo old and perfect in every way! DON't GIVE UP.

But it did. It happened in part of the tube that previously had an ectopic. This time she hemmorhaged and had a second surgery. She now has 2 large c-section scars to remind her of the losses.  Thank you for your input, though. I knew that I could count on you girls. tmv

The other tube should work just fine.  Yes, you are at a higher risk to have an ectopic since you already had one..so keep that in mind.

There's no reason to remove entire tube just area affected, perhaps a great doctor can reconnect and make the tube good again.""  Of course I don't know how much is left.

Since part of the tube is gone, there's no chance of ectopic reocurring in same tube.
