Are HCG levels a factor for multiples?

Hi everyone.  I am new to this site and actually have never posted on any forum but i seach them constantly for answers and to keep me sane durning this crazy process.  Just went thru my first round of IVF....retrieval on 8/16 and 5 day transfer on 8/21.  Transfered 2.  Had my first blood test last Thursday 8/30 and it was positive!  VERY EXCITED!  My HCG level was 326 and my doctor said she likes to see it at least 50+ and my progesterone level was 94.8 and she likes that to be 30+.  I don't have another blood test until 9/6 and i'm trying to see if there is any correlation to multiples w/ high levels?  Thanks for any advice!! Also any advice on the restricted activities post transfer would be helpful.  My Dr. want me to avoid "extra friendly relations" w/ my husband until 9/20 which is my scheduled ultrasound.....that's a tought one!!!!!!  :)

Hi there, like Tanker said, HCG can be, but one thing I do know is high Progesterone levels aren't indicative of multiples or preganancy for that matter. I have had a hugely high progesterone levels of 125 ( been on Clomid ) that resulted in no pregnancy.
Your numbers look good though, congratulations, and a happy and healthy 9 mths!

Higher HCG can be an indication of multiples but it isn't always.. Congrats on the BFP... that is really great news.
