Calling All Women of Strength!!!

A strong woman works out every day to keep her body in shape…
But a woman of strength builds relationships to keep her soul in shape.

A strong woman isn't afraid of anything…
But a woman of strength shows courage in the midst of fear.

A strong woman won't let anyone get the better of her…
But a woman of strength gives the best of herself to everyone.

A strong woman makes mistakes and avoids the same in the future…
A woman of strength realizes life's mistakes can also be unexpected blessings and capitalizes on them.

A strong woman wears a look of confidence on her face…
But a woman of strength wears grace.

A strong woman has faith that she is strong enough for the journey…
But a woman of strength has faith that it is in the journey that she will become strong.

Mommyin10,
I am seeing a Gynecologist, who has experience in solving infertility problems as well. On Sunday, I will do ultrasound, based on that my husband and me will decide whether we want to try this time IUI or not. I hope I could get pregnant naturally, but 23 m sperm with low active motility 20% the chances are low. Many doc suggest IUI.

Okay...so you know how during ttc concieve we check our cervix? Well I wanted to see what position mine was in this morning...Not checking dilation and such! Anyways, after that I had this small (not even the size of my pinky finger nail) brown hard clump come out. And since yesterday I've had nothing but gobbs of jelly/snotlike (sorry!!!) stuff coming out!! No real contractions though...just some here and there. I did call the OB after hours line about the brown clump - he said it was probably just old blood (and yes, I told him I checked the position of my cervix...). So, if labor is going to start I wish it would lol!! Soooo completely different than with DS!!!

Luvkayln: I'll check out your new pics :-)

Holy crap, I've missed SO much since I last posted!!! I think I'm finally caught up, wow! ;)

Welcome to all our new ladies!! :)

Mommyin10- I'm SO excited your appointments went well on Friday! :) I hope your ob is right and you do make it close to your due date! It really sounds like you will, yayyy! I'm glad you'll start your NST soon. I can imagine it'll be a little more busy with 2 in there b/c you have to push this little clicker they give you every time the baby moves. :) Your days will be like mine when you start them. I had my high risk u/s, then my nst then my regular ob check up. And we did that once a week! :) Ok, so your first question about the formula... We strictly breastfed until she was 2 weeks old and hit her first big growth spurt and supplemented with Similac. We didn't give her formula by itself b/c formula is thicker and we didn't want her tummy to get upset, so we did half breastmilk and half formula in a bottle. Breastmilk is so much easier for the baby to digest, that's why they seem hungry more often then formula fed babies b/c breastmilk is easier to digest and formula is a little harder and takes longer to digest. I wanted to comment on what you and dnikki (and dnikki,  that you didn't make enough last time.) said about making enough milk. Be sure and eat an extra 500 calories a day, and drink plenty of water! I may be wrong, but I think that some women who think they don't make enough are maybe just not eating right? And it was true with me at first. I wasn't eating right, solely for the fact that I was a new mom and you have to adjust to so much that you really don't have time for yourself and by the time you have time to make something to eat, all you want to do is sleep! I'm glad I stuck through everything, with getting the mastitis and then with getting blocked milk ducts, and then having the flu! It's so worth it to breastfeed! :) Also, I felt the same way about pumping so that Sean could help feed too. I started  pumping when Addy was about a week old. One thing they never told me that I had to learn was to pump every 3 hours, even at night. I didn't know that at first and would wait like 5-6 hours, and that's why I'm pretty sure I developed those infections in my bbs. It's just that you don't have a lot of milk at first, so it's not really that uncomfortable when it comes in. I think when Addy hit about 2-3 weeks old, I could feel that full uncomfortableness and started pumping or nursing every 3 hours. Also, the lanolin cream is a neccessity! I think I needed it the first 2 weeks, and put it on every time after nursing. I would recommend doing that even if they don't feel too sore at the time. As for the bottles, I am also using playtex ventaire bottles. They work well, and actually she's not a gassy girl and I'm not sure if it's the bottles or the breastmilk that is helping with that. Maybe a combo of both? :) Now we are doing breastmilk during the day, and formula at night and it helps her to sleep a little longer during the night. You're so sweet, you remembered! ;) My first night at work went really good! :) I was a wreck when I first got there b/c that was my first time away from Addy in almost 8 weeks! She's with 24/7, but I stayed busy and was pretty proud of myself that I only called once to check on her! :) She was with my parents, so I knew she'd be fine but it was hard to drop her off and leave. :( Ok, I just saw your question to sbumblebeeo about back labor! I had back labor with both babies, and OMG it's horrible! It feels like contractions in your lower back, like constant horrible cramping and you can't lay on your back AT ALL! I really hope you're not burdoned with it! Sorry this post was so long! lol! This is what happens when I don't check in for a week! ;)

Sbumblebeeo- Yayy, you were able to get out for a little bit to get your rocker! :) I'm sure it was a nice to be able to go out, but I'm glad you're back in bed! Well, I guess not today, huh?! ;) I hope you get a lot of cute things today at your baby shower! You and mommyin10 were seriously making me laugh about the shaving converstation! I think we all go through that when we're pregnant! haha!! :) Oh, about getting a catheder. I had to get one once I got my epidural b/c you obviously can't walk! lol! But I didn't feel a think b/c I was already numb, so just make sure if you get one that you tell them you want it AFTER your epidural! :)

Dnikki- Yayy for being 2 1/2 cm and 50% efaced!! You're getting there! That's pretty much where I was when I started my active labor at 37 1/2 weeks. I was 2 cm dilated and 70 % efaced! :) I'm wondering if you'll make it to your appointment on Thursday!? I really doubt it! ;) How exciting! Ok, so what's this "fat" feeling you and mommyin10 have?lol! :) I don't think I ever felt that way down there!! Haha!! :) I completely understand about the house getting dirty when you're in the nesting stage! I'm still nesting, I wonder if it ever goes away?! I doubt it! lol ;) Take it easy, you're gonna need this energy for labor which is right around the corner!!! Woo hoo!!! :)

Keyan- How are you? :) CD 14, that means a +OPK is right around the corner!!! Yayyy!!! :) I feel very confident for you! :)

Leighanne- Thanks! :) How's lil man doing? When did Jaedyn start teething? And what worked best to ease the pain? My mom said when we were teething she would just give us wet wash cloths to chew on! :) Hey, whatever works, right? I can't believe he's almost a year old! Wow, time just flies!! How's his birthday planning coming along? I can't wait for this December! Addy's first birthday and first FUN Christmas! I don't want her to grow up too fast, but I'm really looking forward to that! :)

Candie & Stacey- We miss you!!!

sbumblebeeo: Thanks. Yes, that helps :) Im sure mine is just muscle strain. I used a heating pad yesterday which helped a lot. Have fun at your shower today!!! :)

nino7: Well, it's good you've got a plan with your doc.  What cd are you now? I don't think clomid has a high risk of multiples. At least I haven't heard of any. Hopefully this is just what you & dh need :) Are you seeing your ob or an RE? Will you try iui or try naturally, but with clomid? Well, keep us posted & good luck :)

mommyin10,
Am on clomid now 100 x 5 days (day 2 to 6). I have no O problems, the egg usually between 18 to 19 when I do Ultrasound in day 12. The doc told me that I O around day 16 since my cycle is 30 days. Which means by day of O the egg usually around 23.

I tried to argue with her the dose of clomid, I though 1 pill per day will be more than enough. I will see how the O will be this month. I don't want the clomid to cause problem is future such as cysts or maybe pregnancy with more than a Twin. I met a lady at the airplane, who have 5 kids (multiple pregnancy) after taking clomid (I have no idea how many pills a day she used to take, but I know that her neither her husband has a problem. Actually she was just delivering a child few months before taking the clomid. She claimed that her husband wants baby right away so they finish having kids soon {to me that sound Crazy}).

Anyways, I will see the doc probably on next Sunday to check O.

mommon10-  Back labor... I kept telling the nurse that I must have a kidney infection b\c that's what it felt like except it got to the point where it was in my lower back and creeping around my hips too.  They tested me for kindey, bladder, ect and the doctor said that my dear was back labor.  It was a constant pain not a come and go like they say contractions are.  It never went until they got my fluids up.  Even still when I take that med they gave us it goes away and the cramping stops but when it wears off the back ache is back again.  I guess if you've never had a kidney infection I haven't really helped... sorry.

Sorry you & dh are having to battle over this again. Ugh ;(
Hey, describe how you felt w/back labor. I'm sure that's not what I have... Last night, the left side of my back (just on the left, from the lower to upper) hurt so bad. dh was asking me what's wrong, but I couldn't explain til it was over. I took Tylenol & it got better. So, I'm thinking it's muscle pain from lying around. It happened again today, but the tylenol helped again. I think it's from lying on one side, with my back/side muscles getting out of whack, but I'm curious what your symptoms were. Thanks :)

dnikki-  I can only imagine how frustrating it was to come home to  messy floors on top of inlaws that never go home.  I'm glad you aren't stressed so much about your BP any more.  That can only make it go up i would think.  That's probably important since his whole life is about to change  with a baby.

My fabulous OUTLAWS dropped off two gift bags today.  She is officially not coming to the  shower.  DH and I got into a big fight over it b/c for weeks I told him that if he didn't handle it and make her come that I was done.  We had heard over a week ago that she was planning on doing this and at that time he agreed that we would give the gifts back now today he started backing up saying they are my family and if I choose to forgive them that is m y right  I tolld him to have at it but they are NOT my family and I am done with them.  What makes me mad is he knew this was coming I  told him if they didn't come to the shower than I didn't even want them at the hospital and he chose to ignore it and now I'm supposed to be thrilled that they dropped off a gift??  You gys remember all the drama over the holidays... I started to cry and told him of course it doesn't matter what they have done to me for the last 4 months of a high risk pregnancy b/c she showed up with a gift?  I don't want it!  I am so angry.  And now I'm done venting

dnikki: Hey, can't get any better than a sil who's an er doc :) I'm glad she was able to answer that question for you. Your day with ds sounds awesome! It's so special to spend extra one-on-one time w/him before Peyton comes home. Sorry your floors got messed up! That su cks! I'm looking forward to cleaning once I'm off bedrest! :) dh is finishing the hardwood in the babies' room! He'll be finished today :) He's going grocery shopping tonight & might  drop me off at the nail salon, so I can have a feet/hand massage! Both are in so much pain. This will be a busy week for me & it'll go by much quicker :) I have my NST Tues evening & a busy day w/the high risk doc, nutritionist & an NST Fri. Plus, my parents will come visit :) I haven't seen them since I've been on bedrest.

Nino7: CD means cycle day. If you know what day you are in your cycle, I'll add you to that part of the list. Then after you've O'd (ovulated), you'll be so many dpo (days past O). I understand why your doc's not concerned w/the thickness. Mine wasn't either & we all have different issues our docs are working with. So, more eggs & progesterone might just do the trick for you :) They started me on clomid too w/progesterone suppositories. Once it was confirmed I was O'ing on my own, they stopped the clomid, but I kept up w/the progesterone. Like I said, my thickness was usually around a 5. When I did IVF, it was still thin, but I used progesterone injections that time & everything worked out :) When will you see your doc again?

Sammy_J: That's great! Now you can bd & do another iui Monday to cover all bases! :)

Thanks for the good luck! My IUI went well, have another on Monday in case I ovulate late. Meanwhile DH and I can try to BD again tomorrow :)

dnikki
You can rant n rave all you like! Thats what I like about this forum we can let out our emotions and others understand what we are going thru. Had an argument over nothing with DH 2 days ago and cried and cried. He was irritated but we made up and then he said he understands I'm going thru a tough time plus the hormones and all. But he still can't understand nor can anyone unless they go thru something like this. Well now its almost over for you, and a new adventure will start soon :) all the best!

Nino7
I've heard that endo above 6 is suitable for pregnancy. Of course thicker would be better, but I've also heard that there are pregnancies even at 5. But progesterone should def help. My doc says that suppositories are better than injections. I HATED suppositories and begged him to give me shots instead but he insisted and now I've got used to them. The theory is that suppositories get the prog to where it is really needed.

SSBD to all...

dnikki- i hear ya.  when your nesting and someone messed up the place, its really frustrating.  I remember i was going to kill my fiance when he messed something up the weekend before jaedyn was born and i was supposed to be on bedrest and instead i was scrubbing baseboards because i was nesting and hysterical saying the baby could not come home to dirty baseboards.  looking back on it now its kind of funny how psychotic we get with nesting.

mommyin10,
I spoke to my doc yesterday. She said she is not worried about my Endo thickness (6.7 mm). I told her that clomid may thinner the lining, I have no idea why she believes that clomid will increase the thickness a little bit :SSSSS (I disagree).
She said that she will give me progesterone. She said, to have more eggs will increase pregnancy chances. My husband has low motility (active 20% and sluggish 25%), count 23 ml. I may go for IUI this month.

Mommyin10: It seems to be back down...My SIL is here, she's an ER doc and didn't seem concerned about it...She just said it's b/c I'm getting ready to pop lol ;-) I'm feeling pretty good. I was irritated again this morning...My inlaws are here for the second day and they are here for lunch and dinner again...So, before they got here this morning DS and I left, just the 2 of us. We went to ****'s Sporting Goods and he was happy he got a camoflouge hat :-) Then I told him we were going to a surprise store which was the pet store. He LOVES going there even just to look :-) They were having a pet adoption drive so he got to see and pet some other dogs. And he got a new fish (just an algea eater that was on sale for $1 lol). He had a great time and it was nice to just be the 2 of us. Then I get home lol...I walk into the kitchen and there are black scuff marks ALL OVER my floor! I just flat out said what in the world is all over the floor?! Needless to say, some of it my MIL cleaned up...But it just frustrates me sooooo bad that right now I'm nesting something aweful and I want the house to be clean clean clean!! And I come home to that....Sorry, just a vent.... On another note...I lost another small chunk of my plug today. I've been losing it kind of like regular discharge (just really thick sorry TMI!) but I had an actual small chunk of it again... We are just soooo ready to meet her :-) Okay, so now that I've ranted and raved (sorry but thank you!!!) How are you doing today?

bumble- anytime you get a epidural you usually have a catheter.  And yes you always have one with a c section.  you dont feel it, they put it in after the numb you and honestly when it comes out you dont feel it.  its not bad at all.  it just takes a while to pee afterwards.

So last night I decided to take my BP before bed...it was 131/77 which is actually kina high for me. I usually run in the low 100's over 60's. I took it again as soon as I got up this morning and it was 127/79...So I changed the batteries thinking that was it so I just now took it again and it was 108/69 which is better for me....Idk I guess I'll keep an eye on it and if goes back up again then I'll call my OB or L&D and see what they say... Do you think that's extreme to call them?

Sbumblebeeo: My ob said she thinks I'll make it close to term, but you really never know & the biggest reason is because I'm on bedrest :) I mean, I was in the hospital Dec 18 & here I am more than a month later :) I know it's hard -- Believe me, I know -- but hang in there & know that the longer you stay in bed, the longer Shelby can grow to a healthy birth weight :) Your shower will be a blast! I've looked at our registry, too ;) My ob ok'd me to go to the shower at work 2/19, so I'm hoping it works out :) dh & I are also thinking about doing a shower for family at a local restaurant, rather than the elaborate plans we had previously ;) It'd be fun to see everyone, so I hope it works out.

dnikki: I know! Two days out in the real world! Yippee :) Well, I guess I'll be getting out just to lay in a hospital bed, but the more I can be monitored & reassured the babies are ok, the better :) Yes, I'm sure as awful as a catheter sounds, it won't matter a bit, especially after everything else we've been through! :) Have a good night!

Mommyin10: Glad everything went so well!! Wow, how are you going to feel getting out of the house twice a week now?!!!! I'm doing pretty good - not too many contractions today which is kind of a bummer...I'm sitting on my exercise ball again right now so we'll see lol :-)

Mommyin10 & sbumblebeeo: I had a vaginal delivery with DS and I had an epidural...I was still straight cathed to drain my bladder.... Don't worry though, you shouldn't feel it lol!! From my experience working in the hospitals, you don't HAVE to shave but it is a little cleaner if you do...I do anyways lol!!

Keyan: I'm doing good :-) Just trying to patiently wait...! You're not on here very much :-( How are you doing? It snowed yesterday, but all that we had melted, so we're back to having about 2inches. It's bitter cold out though!!! A low of 8 tonight w/o windchill!!!

Guesito: I'm glad to hear all is going well with you! I'm glad you granddaughter is such a little angel :-) Good Luck in March!!!

No, I wasn't expecting her to check me. It's better to leavecwell enough alone for now. She saidceven though I was 1 cm dilated before, I can still go to term or close to. When I see the high risk doc next Friday, he won't check me, but his u/s machine is so much better than my ob's & he can see our baby boy's positioning better & the length of my cervix. Plus, I'll be at the hospital twice/week til they're born :) So, although it'd be good to know if I'm more dilated, I ok she didn't check :) Oh, I forgot. I'll stop my niphedipine at 34 weeks. I got referrals to pediatricians & a copy of my amnio results, which I kept forgetting to ask for. Your shower is Sunday; right?! I bet you're excited :)
