Confused? Polycystic Ovaries and the Syndrome can you have one and not the other?

what is the difference between having Polycystic ovaries and not having Polycystic Ovarian syndrome? I'm confused with what my Doctor told me. Thanks

Its actually 2 diff things, one causes symtoms ie weight gain, hair growth in unwanted place, spots and of course cysts infertility and lack of a proper monthly cycle, whereas polycystic ovaries without the sydrome do not give you symtoms. (Victoria beckham as polycystic ovaries yet she has 4 children, thin and no symptoms at all)
