Cramps After Retrieval?

Hello all,

I had retrieval yesterday (3/15) and am still crampy and not feeling great today.  Anyone else been through this and can you tell me how long it felt for you to feel normal again?

I am 39 (almost 40) and going through my first IVF cycle.  11 eggs retrieved, 9 fertilized.  Not sure how many will make it through PGD but we are hopeful.

Thanks to all for your help.

9 fertilized eggs is such a good number!  It's actually my goal  :) (not that I can control anything!)
I hope they all grow like mad!

I have been through 3 retrievals and always feel not so good for a couple days afterward.  I get sore, bloated and have mild cramping.  All normal.  And mild cramping after transfer is normal to.  If you have intense cramping or intense bloating or heavy bleeding call your RE asap.  When I say intense I mean more than you an comfortable deal with.  Try taking 2 extra strenght tylenol every 4-6 hours.  This last ER I took tylonel and used a heating pad up to the night before transfer and it helped A LOT!!  I also drank a lot of gatorade (actually G2-less sugar).

Hi, I got ER on 3/7, have alot of cramps for 2 days.  My E/T is on 3/10 with 3 embryos,1-8cells, 1-6cells, and 1-4cells.  I got a lot of gas, stomachach for 3 days. sometimes I have sharp pain on right side till now.  My ER said sharp pain due to follicles enlarge from ER.  Other than that I don't have any more symptom.  I'm a bit worry because my ER said I expect to have a lot of cramps this weekend.....

Thanks Helen!  And all the best to you too!  We got our "fert call" today and it's so hard not to be excited about 9 fertilized eggs, but we are trying to be realistic.  It's only a small part of the battle, in reality!!  Positive thinking prevails though.  Best of luck!
