Dear lis93 -

For unexplained infertility, clomid 100 mg is the standard starting dose. For infertility because of irregular or absent periods, 50 mg is the usual starting dose but 100 mg is also reasonable.

I was prescribed 50mg , 1x day, BUT  I ovulate on time, every month, no exceptions.. so I dunno why they put me on it in the first place.  4 IUI's.. 50 mg clomid each time..nothing.. nada.. zip.. zero.. etc....  :)
Next month is injectables.. thats more like it!

My dr won't even rx less than 100mg. I started and stayed at 100mg. Good luck!

I am 39 and my problem is that my follicles do not mature enough to be released.  So, the clomid is to increase the size.  First month, did not work.  Second month, increased to 150 mg. and it worked, however, I had pneumonia and we were doing timed bd.  My fever was 104.7 on the day of the trigger shot, so they thought there was a good chance I would not conceive.  This month, they kept me on same dosage.  I go in for u/s on thursday.  Depending on the u/s as to whether I have IUI on Saturday.  This will be the first IUI for me.
