Taglas I will start around the first of November.
That's great news! I pray that everything will work out for you. I am waiting for the clinic to call w/ my schedule. Do you know when you will start your next cycle?
I talked to my nurse today and they are going to change my protocal this cycle can't wait to start. I am going to try one more time using my own eggs, lets see how this new protocal works.

Going with donor eggs at your age is rare. You are only 29 women don't do donor eggs before 38. Just becase you have produced 7 eggs doesn't mean that is your problem. Many times it is the protocol that is not working for you. You should tell your doctor to change protocol. I have had 3 ivf failed and not to meantion 3 m/c so my doctor says it is the eggs that are not good quality, but even so he has never meantioned donor eggs.
When i had the lupron protocol i didn't respond very well, i had 12 eggs but at day 5 i only had 3 good ones for transfer. So the second round my doctor put me on the antagon protocol and with that i had 12 eggs and 10 fertilized and all went to freeze. So the second protocol was much better for me in regard of quality. What is your fertility condition?
Talk to your doctor about change in the protocol or find another doctor just for a consultation.
Thank you all for responding it really helps. Allip77 I think I am at the best clinic, I am at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. I even work there lol... I am in a tug a war right now on what I should do.
One more thing you might want to think about before you go the donor egg route...are you at a really good clinic? My sister's friends who went to the same clinic all took 3-4 rounds of IVF to get pregnant. I just wonder whether a better clinic with better lab, etc. might have been able to get them pregnant sooner...
It's absolutely a #s game and unfortunately doctors really can't tell when your lucky number might come up. I got pregnant naturally at 39 years old with an FSH of 12.4 after having had produced only 2 eggs on the highest-medication IVF cycle. My OB/GYN had a patient who only produced ONE nonviable egg in her IVF cycle so the doctors told her she had no chance on her own and next cycle did donor egg with her sister's egg. Guess what, when her baby was 8 months old, she got pregnant! My doctor said she was so shocked she couldn't get off the changing table when the doctor told her the news! So you just never know....
It sounds like you are in same boat as me as far as eggs go. Hang in there.......
We just need Quality & not Quanity. Remember that.
Hi
My first cycle failed. I produced 12 mature eggs only six were fertilized. A 5 and 6 cell were transfered by ICIS, a 4 and 5 cell frozen, and 2 only divided to two cells and were discarded, According to my RE I am perfectly healthy! Sperm analysis revealed a low count w/ low motility, I will do another fresh cycle. That's a tough call TY616, I will keep you in my prayers:)
I do not produce many eggs only 7 no more then 3 fertalize. I am only 29.
I agree with Taglas. Why have your previous cycles failed? How many eggs are you producing? Are they all fertalizing?
I am doing IVF #4 & will transfer tomorrow. From the three I have done already I have had 2 m/c. In my case my RE belives I can conceive it's just a #'s game & need to find a good egg.
I am 38yrs old. I don't produce many eggs..never more then 8. I have never had any frozen. If this cycle does not work we will look at donor eggs. This is my last cycle covered under insurance. We would like to have a better chance if going to pay out of pocket.
Please tell us your situation.....
Hi
I plan to go for my second round of IVF Nov or Dec. The use of donor vs natural eggs should depend on your diagnosis. Has your RE given you any inclination as to why your previous cycles may have failed.
