I don't think you have a DPO with IVF

don't they count it from embryo transfer???

Technically, though wouldn't the day the eggs get fertilzed the day after ovulation???

I'll try to find the post, if I can. There was one last week, she explained it to me. She was waiting for beta after IVF, too.

Ok, found it. She had ET on 5/2 and it was 5/7 she said would count like 12dpo.

not too good at math, I think I would be 14dpo on 5/18

I'm not good at the math end of it either, lol. But, if implant is usually 8dpo, you would already be 8dpo when ET?

Ok, I'm probably going to sound stupid, but I'm risking it, lol. When they do the transfer, the embryos need to implant pretty quick, don't they? Or can they just "float" around in there for a while until they attach? Once they attach, they make hcg. Do they implant quick? I would guess they have a certain amount of time to do it? Like I said, I probably sound stupid.

My clinic calls the day of retrieval day 0. The next day is 1dpo. So for my clinic:

5/4=day 0
5/5=1dpo
5/6 = 2dpo
5/7=3dpo
5/8=day 4 transfer
5/9=5dpo or 1dp4dt (1 day past 4 day transfer)
5/18=14dpo (10dp4dt)

Not sure if all clinics count the retrieval as day 0, but mine does. I wish you luck!

TIna,

I found this on another thread and I like that it gives a good idea of what is happening during the dreaded tww. And your question isn't stupid! The embie does sort of hang out right and continue growing after the transfer.

This is what happens in a 3dt :

1dpt ..Embryo is growing and developing
2dpt...Embryo is now a blastocyst
3dpt...Blastocyst hatches out of shell on this day
4dpt.. Blastocyst attaches to a site on the uterine lining
5dpt.. Implantation begins,as the blastocyst begins to bury in the lining
6dpt.. Implantation process continues and morula buries deeper in the lining
7dpt.. Morula is completely implanted in the lining and has placenta cells & fetal cells
8dpt...Placenta cells begin to secret HCG in the blood
9dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
10dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
11dpt...HCG levels are now high enough to be immediately detected on HPT
