How long after implantation bleeding will I get a BFP?

My husband and I have been having unprotected sex for the past 2 weeks. This past Saturday I had some low cramping and a little bit of faint pinkish brown spotting the only lasted through the day when I wiped. It made me think it was implantation bleeding... but I took an early result hpt yesterday (wednesday) morning and it was negative.. could I still be pregnant? How long after IB could I get a positive?

You could go see your doctor and request a hcg blood test be done, that will tell you for definite if you're pregnant or not. If not then you know the nausea is just because of a virus or something. Spotting/bleeding after sex can be signs of infection or something else there so if that continues and you get it again, best to go get some swabs done and checked out.

Well, the test was negative :( but I still have not started.. now that you mention it being spotting bc of sex, that is quite possible.. sigh.. But I have been nauseous the past few days. I dont know what to think. All of this is enought to make someone go crazy o_O

Its hard to know what is going on when I dont have regular cycles... So the metformin will really help?

Any news on your end?!

Sometimes the cervix can also be irritated by sex as well, this could cause a bit of spotting. Some women notice spotting after sex in pregnancy too!!!

That's wonderful, and I hope your test turns out positive. I am 14 dpo, and am waiting to test until AF is late, it's quite nerve wracking!! I had pain years ago, in my tummy, the doctors found nothing on u/s or any tests. This pain was intense. They did exploratory lap surgery and found a small amount of endo and removed it. The surgeon said it wasn't enough to explain how much pain I had, but she was wrong. I healed up and no more pain. Endo can go with no symptoms for years, or will just have a bit of spotting. I really hope it's not the case, but if you don't get your BFP this month, please mention the spotting. If you did have it, catching it early is key. Again I hope it's not that, but left untreated could effect fertility greatly.

I am on Metformin as well (small world :) and I got pregnant on it instantly, well within weeks. Unfortunately I had an early loss, but it proved my Dr. right when she said you ovulate before you mentstruate. Fingers crossed that this was implantation for you and you have a very healthy pregnancy!!! Good luck.

Thank you! I am going to test in the morning so we will see.. My husband and I actually werent "trying" persay so I didnt track my stuff. Also, it was the first period I have had since February so I really wasnt sure how long it would be. The dr started me on metformin a month ago and that was supposed to help regulate so I was thinking that this might be pregnancy. I hope so :) and the bleeding was just weird, very short and different kind of cramps. I have been checked for endo, last month I had an ultrasound and the dr said everything looked great! :)

Sorry, don't want to get you worried, have you ever spotted before AF before? I ask, because your question stuck out to me. Usually women refer to what cycle day it is or when they ovulated, so I started thinking about your spotting. It's very possible that it was implantation, but if not, please see your Dr. spotting before AF can be a sign of endometriosis. Sometimes that can be the only symptom, but the sooner you find out the better the outcome. Again I hope it was implantation and you get a BIG FAT POSITIVE!!!

I agree with KitKat, waiting til AF was due is best. I have irregular cycles, but unless you have a luteal phase defect your luteal phase should be 14days. I would say 15days after ovulation would be good, but if AF still doesn't show, it's still possible. I've heard of women not getting a + til 18 or 20 dpo, did you track ovulation? Have you been temping or using OPK's or anything? I'm currently in the 2 week wait myself, at 11 days post ovulation. It's so nerve wracking!! Good luck to us both!

Generally speaking, you can take a pregnancy test about a week or so after suspected implantation.

Well, my periods are very irregular so I am not sure. My last period was May 30th.

When is your period due? You're always best waiting until your period is due to test if it's late. You can obviously test (with a sensitive test like first response) 4 days before your expected period but still better waiting until it's due.
