mybabypooh~ Our first phone consultation is May 27th with Dr. Levy. I already looked at the donors and liked one... ha ha! I figured she's probably be gone. May I ask how much time was it from first visit to transfer date? I have alot of the testing done already....
Kricket212~ You are not imagining things.... They are in MA,VA,WA... we would commute.... since we are using donor eggs, they will let us do the monitoring in oh. Already have that lined up.... and we only have to go for 2 trips. The first one for meeing staff/testing needed/mtg social worker...hubby contribution.... and then just transfer date. it's 6 1/2 hrs from our home.
We are still considering the Attain IVF program too. That would be in cinci. We keep going back and forth. My hubby and I are going to sit down this week-end and run over all the numbers between the two programs and see which way we want to go.
I don't know which way we're going.... but at least I know we're going somewhere : )
Where is Shady Grove? Ohio?
I am trying to look it up & found locations in Maryland, Virginia & Wash DC. Is this the wrong website?
That is awesome! When is your first appointment. I read somewhere that you were given a temp password for the donors, don't count on seeing the same donors on the list once you get you real password. Best of luck! Let me know how everything is going.
Shady Grove will actually let us do in-state monitoring at a clinic/obgyn near our house. We have a phone consultation with Dr. Levy and then We go for one day of testing, meeting the social worker ect., my hubby leaves his "deposit" on that same day, they freeze it then. and then.... We don't have to go back until day of transfer : ) The will even reimburse us for out of town monitoring costs : ) So we only have to make 2 trips to the clinic each fresh cycle. Unless they still have enough "swimmers" : )
Pretty Cool Huh?!?
Just remember you will have to go in for blood work and ultrasounds often ...being that you live so far away. But, when there is a will, there is a way!
Awesome! I am really leaning towards them.... I have a phone consultation with them on May 27th with Dr. Levy. I really like their program. : ) It is far away, as I live OH... but, what's a girl to do???
Yes, I used Shady Grove's donor program. I got pregnant on my second cycle and I still have my protocol..that is why I could tell you step by step what I did...good luck!
Thanks! I did the lupron on our first cycle... no bcp though... used estrace pills and prometrium pills. Just trying to see what everyone else did. I did 3 cycles of FET, and my doctor never changed protocol. I had trouble getting my uterus to thicken, but he never changed my meds dosage or type. trying to see what your RE did. I think I may be going to Shady Grove this time... that's where you went right???
May I ask how many cycles it took for you? Did you use donor? If not... you sure are informed :0 )
With a fresh cycle, your RE will give you a donor / recipient synchronization sheet, which is your protocol. The schedule will give you step by step instructions on what to do on your scheduled dates. First, your RE will put you on BCP to synce you with your donor. You will also start Lupron when you are on BCP and your nurse will instruct you on when to take your last BCP. You should expect your period in a few days once you stop your BCP. A couple days after your period, you will be scheduled for a "lupron evaluation" which includes your blood work and ultrasound. Depending on your results, you will be instructed to begin del estrogen and stop lupron. You will continue the del estrogen every 3 days until you are scheduled for another blood work and ultrasound. The RE will then give you your donors estimated retrieval date and your husband's semen sample will be due that day and you will start progesterone the day before retrieval. After retrieval, your nurse will call you to let you know how many eggs were retrieved and how many you will get. Next will be your fertilization report, the nurse will tell you how many eggs fertilized. Last be not least, will be you scheduled transfer day. The embryologist will advise on a day 3 or day 5 transfer. Hope this helpd:-) Oh, your nurse might also put you on baby aspirin when you begin your lupron. You will continue to take the progesterone injections every day and the del estrogen every 3 day until your pregnancy test. Once you are pregnant you will continue the injections until RE take you off the meds.
Hi!
When i did a fresh donor cycle.. they put me on BCP and lupron to get my cycle in sync with the donors...
then i had to take estrogen patches and the progesterone inserts... then we had the transfer and i stayed on the progesterone and estrogen patches until i got a BFN...
So... now i'm doing a FET with the donor eggs...
What we did was.. after i got my BFN after last months cycle i stopped all meds.. (progesterone and estrogen) and waited for AF to show...
When AF came i started estrogen patches again .. and on day 16 i went in for U/S and blood work.. then i started progesterone that night... i had the transfer on cycle day 22 i believe...
Still waiting for the results of this cycle...
I have a phone consultation with Shady Grove on May 27th. I think we are we going to do their shared risk program, new donor. I am hoping to start as quickly as possible after that. I am enjoying my break from doctors and bloodwork and ultrasounds... but I am ready to get back into it! : )
Thanks for the support! It really means alot!!! : )
So happy you are getting started again. Did you get a new donor or use the same one? WHen do you think it will be?
