I did 2 clomid iui with forced ovulation and moved onto iui with injectable meds..I used follism...the 2 nd one with injectable meds did take...but there was a high change for multiples witht the cycle that took...Had several large follicles....1 took....
Good luck!!@@
Good to know, a few babies are better than none...but several? Hmmmm... Not so sure about that lol
Clomid and femara help with ovulation, but don't have that great a tendency to cause you to ovulate more than one egg at a time. So they are really useful when trying IUI. The IVF meds (and though I did IVF I can't recall all the names and which drug has what action) stimulate the ovaries to produce a lot of eggs during one cycle. This is fine if you are doing IVF because the eggs can be retrieved and then a select number placed back inside. So say you produce 12 eggs that are collect, and a few days later 2 embryos are transferred back, then the highest level of multiples you would get is twins (unless the embryos split). On the other hand, if you use the IVG injection meds that stimulate multiple ovulation, and again get 12 eggs and then do IUI, you could potentially become pregnant with 12 babies at once!
What my doc told me is that the IVF meds don't really increase your chance of getting pregnant by all that much compared to clomid/femara, but they do VASTLY increase your chance of becoming pregnant with multiples as opposed to singletons. Something to keep in mind if you want to move on in terms of meds but still stick to IUI.
