When do you O on Clomid?

I'm on first round of 50 mg Clomid. I was told to take the pills CD 5-9 and to BD on days 12, 14, and 16 of cycle. I've been charting my temperatures and using OPK's since last week.

I'm on CD 15 and today's OPK was still Negative. My temperature dipped this morning (a pretty big dip actually) so I thought maybe O was about to happen, but then I had that Negative OPK = (. What day are you supposed to ovulate when you're on Clomid? Are you supposed to ovulated on day 14, or is it later? I was really hoping to have O'd by now.

Thanks guys. SSBD!!!

Thanks to all of you. I was pretty nervous to start Clomid this month. I didn't know how my body would react, etc. I haven't had any side effects that I can notice, besides a little skin break out but not too bad. Must be the hormones.
I'm 16 today, still had a negative OPK. I'm going to spring for the smiley face OPK's and use them starting tomorrow. I don't seem to have much luck with these two line OPK's either. I'm hoping to O by Friday or Sat (CD 19-20).

Do you guys think BD'ing every other day is OK?

Thanks again, Heather.

Doing your OPK at lunch is fine.  I have to take mine while at work too, so that works the best for me.  Like Heather said, as long as you avoid the first morning urine, you should be fine.  Clomid delayed my O date too by a few days, so don't panic.  I know the first month I was on it, I kept doing OPK's and getting negatives and I was so worried that it messed me up, but it turned out OK.  I think your doctor was telling you to BD on those days since that when O USUALLY occurs, but just keep BD'ing until you know you O'd.  Good luck!  Hope you see that + soon!  :)

Me too I only used the smiley ones. The others didn't work as well or at all.

I didn't O until between CD 16 - 20....and the only OPKs that I can actually tell that I have a + or - is the smiley face ones.

Good luck!!

Your OPK schedule sounds perfect :-) I think the main thing is just to avoid first morning urine, since LH doesn't show up in your urine until a few hours later. That said, though, I used to do first morning urine all the time until I found out you're not suppose to, and I still got a clear positive every month.

But to answer your question, I only took clomid once, and it did delay my ovulation by a couple of days. I think I ovulated on CD15 that cycle and I normally ovulate on CD13. From what I've read, most women tend to ovulate within 10 days of taking the last clomid pill, so based on that, you still have a few more days. Just keep testing...I'm sure you'll get a positive very soon.

Best of luck this cycle!

I'm doing the OPK at noon every day because I get up, pee, then work and don't pee for 4 hours, then take the OPK on lunch break. The OPK I'm using says to hold it for at least 4 hours before POS so that's the best time for me (plus, it's lunch break). I think my OPK says to do after 10 am, so I *hope* it's fine. I'm wondering if today's temp dip means anything at all. I agree, I think I'll need to BD past CD16! Sigh.
Thanks!

You can ovulate any where from CD12-23. Women on Clomid tend to ovulate later in their cycle. When I was on Clomid I ovulated around CD21 every month. Keep using the opks. ans keep BDing was past CD16.
