HCG and progesterone levels

I am about 4-5 weeks pregnant and received a call from my doc today about my levels. He said that my HCG was 457 which was great but my progesterone was only 3.6. He has put me on prometrium 100mg 3 x a day even before my results came back. Has anyone had results like this or heard of some one who has had a successful pregnancy with levels like this?

Your progesterone is low but good thing is that your DOC has prescribed a support supplement.  The prescribed prometrium 100mg 3 x/ day will aid in supporting the pregnancy, especially during the first trimester. Try not to worry; I'm sure you will be fine. Wishing you a healthy and happy pregnancy :)

When my DR called with my results, he told me that they like for the progesterone to be over 20. Mine was 33.3. Hopefully this medicine works for you! i have faith that it will and you will be just fine, and have a happy beautiful baby!

I'm sorry to hear about your low number. They like to see it at least in the double digits in early pregnancy, so hopefully the prometrium will help bring it up. Best of luck with everything!
