I caved and took a hpt 3 days before my blood test....

My blood pregnancy test is on Wed 9/24(one day before my bday : ) but I caved and took a first response EPT hpt today (3 days early) and I had one bright pink line and one very faint 2nd line but definitely two lines. The instructions say that the second line can appear lighter but I'm still wondering if it could really be positive?! I had one failed fresh IVF cycle 5 months ago and this is my first FET cycle. I was feeling crampy with back aches since the second day post transfer so I was sure it hadn't worked but now I have hope. Has anyone had a similar experience with one bright pink line and one very faint line with a positive outcome? Also, I'm taking estrogen pills and progesterone injections but no medication with hcg....since it was a frozen cycle i didn't have to take the hcg shot. Could the progesterone or estrogen give me a false positive?

OH the joys of being PREGNANT! LOL My bbs have been the worst for me so far! I expected the nausea and constipation, and I knew about tender bbs but mine for a couple of weeks have been down right rediculous, its been a while since I have been PG, but I never had pain like this with my other 2.( they are 9, and 13) SOO IDK! BUT after 5 yrs of trying I am gladly welcoming all the discomfort!  

Zieg~ I know how you feel, I joined this forum a few months ago, and I have never felt more at home, I was to the point of giving up and I finally found comfort with people like me. And then BAM I got my BFP, Its kinda crazy! we were supposed to just be having a month of charting. :) We started seeing a new RE. and were moving onto invitro the following month or so! I am so blessed!

I'm so glad i joined this forum! You all are so positive and inspirational! I'm feeling much better about the whole beta level thing now. I've been praying hard and will continue and I appreciate your prayers too. I have faith that God wants us all to be blessed : )

For kikicoates78, thanks for sharing your numbers and lots of baby dust to you! As for my symptoms, I've been a little nauseous the last couple of days and today my boobs really started acheing. This might be tmi but I also have really bad gas today. It's really embarrassing because I don't want to pass gas in front of my husband but it's impossible not to because I'm so bloated....LOL! I also woke up last night and the night before sweating profusely and have been crampy with backaches since last week.

Congratulations!!! I have never seen so many BFP's!!

Guesito is right. You've got to stay relaxed and hold tight. There are people who have had a lot lower and went on to have their baby. Don't get too wrapped around the hpt's. They do nothing but stress out IVF moms. I emailed my doc about the detection levels in those tests. He said that most of them are detectable at 5.

I will keep praying for you and am sending baby dust, baby dust, baby dust your way!!

Friday will give you a realistic outlook as to what to expect so it is important to THINK PREGNANT today, tomorrow and Friday. Your higher power is more powerful than science and you're already pregnant so pray for your pregnancy to grow. I will pray too and so will Guesito. We have been where you are!

Think positive and pray hard and stay focused my first was 18 and 5 days later it was 560 then 3500 or so...stay positive and good luck! I have 10  more days before I can test!!! Did you have any signs??? sore boobs,,,,etc

Don't get wrapped up in the numbers it takes away from the enjoyment of it all! I was 17dpo b4 I got a BFP, my numbers were only 88 which is pretty low comparatively, but 2 days later they soared to 300! ENJOY your moment you are PREGNANT girlie!!! CONGRATS!

Another thing I realized is that the First Response test detects levels of 25 and since mine was positive on Sunday my numbers should have at least doubled by now right? : (

I'm pregnant (yay!) however my beta levels are low. My nurse said she likes to see at least 50 and mine are only at 29 : ( She says she's seen levels as low as 7 continue as a normal pregnancy but I'm really worried. I want to be excited and positive but seeing your count at 380 and knowing mine is only 29 really concerns me. I go back on Friday for my second test....i sure hope it doubles. I'll try to stay positive for now....

It sounds to me like you are pregnant. Stay positive and pray for that BFP tomorrow.

All those signs are normal. Sometimes the stretching of your uterus is confused with cramping. Are you bleeding?It's is not unusual to have a period on Estrogen. It called Break Through bleeading. I can't wait for your test results tomorrow. My fingers are crossed for you...

Thanks for the info...i looked at the box and the test is First Response in the pink box not  EPT...oh well. I'm going in tomorrow for my test but a little worried. I've been feeling pretty crampy and last night I had a really wierd and kind of painful cramp. I've been feeling naseous too which I know is a good sign....so many different symptoms but the positive tests make me feel pretty confident. Is it possible to bleed or start a period while taking estrogen? I would think if anything went wrong I would bleed. Anyway, thanks for your support. I hope to have good news to report tomorrow.

Did you have your beta test today? I hope you had a good strong count!!!

From the list that I have the EPT tests require a higher hCG (40 and up) to read positive. The cheapie ones detect a much lower number. You may not get into your higher numbers until Wednesday. The fact that an EPT was positive is a really good sign. That means your numbers are high enough today to detect a good amount of hCG in your system. That really is good news. What brand of test did you buy? I buy the dollar store sticks and they seem to detect easier than the fancy ones... With my son I had faint lines too and he came out just fine... Don't worry. Wednesday is not too far away...

Congratulations Nurseypie! I'm new at this blogging thing and posted my comment to you on the main forum...anyway, thanks for all your positivity and good luck tomorrow! I took the second test early this morning and the second line is still there but still very faint. I'm worried that it's not darker but still very hopeful.

Ascott, you're quite far along. That's wonderful...My FE is used to me harassing him with emails. I email with any and every question I can think of. He won't be surprised that I tested early. This is our 4th IVF together and he's quite familiar with my assertiveness by now. I'm going to ask if I can do my beta tomorrow instead of waiting, but he'll probably say, "No. Wait until Tuesday and no excercise!" I was going to keep it quiet but then I realized that's good news for them also. Besides, it's our IVF and if the clinic can't understand our excitement then poo-poo on them. Every moment of happiness is good for the baby anyway...

I took my HPT after IVF 4 days early, and it was BFP!! almost 8wks now. If you want to be sure go out and by one of those digital's. FRER Gold is a good one. Congrats!!! on your pregnancy.
