How to take prometrium

This is a bit of a daft question but i am a little confused.

I switched from a RE in Czech Republic who did my IVF and supplied my progesterone- vaginal suppositories, to a local OBGYN who gave me a further prescription for progesterone in the form of prometrium capsules (the little pink 100mg balls).  My prescription says to be taken vaginally, but the info leaflet says to be taken orally.

Can you take the same capsule either orally or vaginally as a suppository?  Or do you think my OB wrote it incorrectly, figured i'd ask here as i cannot get hold of the OB to ask her.

Hi, yes you can take it vaginally. My dr. put me on capsules (they looked like gel caps with this white powder in them) and when I got the prescription I thought the same thing. So, I asked the pharmacists just to be sure and she said yes that it works better that way.  Good luck!!

It should be taken vaginally.  You should insert it with your finger as far up as you can.  Orally is more to induce a period.  Your OB has instucted you correctly.
