Hubby's testosterone level. Opinions??? DHEA????

Ok, so his level is 293 and it says the normal range is between 280 - 800. So he is on the low side of normal. Should he get supliments? DHEA????

My DH levels were similar. I've heard of men taking Clomid to help it. My DH had really bad side effects from the Clomid. His count went from 20 million to 3 million in 2 months and he started seeing tracers out of the corner of eyes. Also, not to mention the occasional mood swings. I'm not really sure what else they do. Does your DH have a low SA? Best of luck to you, I hope you get some answers and a BFP :)

Yeah, I wouldn't let him take Clomid because I had a bad experience w/ it. But I have heard of DHEA helping, but we are still waiting on more tests, because you have to make sure he realy needs it or it will lower his count. HE has a low count and clumping issues as well. We are going to start on Vitamin C for the clumping and Geritol I think. I hear Geritol is good.

I'll have to look that up. I wish RE would have told us that if DH's other counts were normal the Clomid would work as a male birth control. I found that out from looking stuff up online. DH started taking vitamin c and a man multi-vitamin last week. I'll have to search Geritol.

Did you get his Lh and Fsh levels tested? If they are low the problem lies somewhere else besides the testes if they are high he may have problems with his testes. These are the hormones that tell the testes to produce testosterone and sperm. If testosterone is low these levels should be high if not the problem is either the pituitary or the hypothalamus. Dhea is a precusor to testosterone so it might help, but if the problem is with his testes then maybe not. Clomid is very dose sensitive like all hormones each person is different. If I was you I would get the test I suggested and depending on the results look into Hcg, Dhea or an clomid. I know you are against clomid because of a bad experience, but I works differently for everyone. I have heard of guys who are succesful on it in bringing up their testosterone levels. Which should be good on sperm count.

That Geritol sounds really good. I just spent a while looking it up. I would deifinatly try it. I read one post where someone took it till a BFP and then swiched right to prenatal vitamins. It's worth a shot! I wonder if you can just get it in a pill form!

You can, but I have read that liquid is better because it gets in your system better. I am trying everything under the sun at this point...LOL

I know what you mean. I think I'm definatly going to try it. It's just a vitamin so it should work fine w/ meds like clomid and HCG right? I found this post on here about it http://www.medhelp.org/posts/show/168239. I'm ready for a baby in a bottle. Are you going to take it and have DH take it?

YES, I'm going to go get some tomorrow. I'm going to O anyday, so it may be too late for this month, but then that gives us time to get it in our system by next month. I'm also using Pre-Seed.

One more thought supplementing DHEA will only help if he is deficient in it I think.

Yes, we are getting his DHEA checked. I read if he does not actualy need it it can reduce his count, so we are making sure first. Thanks for making sure though, I apriciate your opinions.
