I have PCOS with Letrozole as clomid-150mg dint work.. help???
i have pcos.. had an abortion8 months back and since then i have been trying to conceive..took clomid 50 mg.. there was a mature egg took hcg.i dint get pregnant. my husband semen analysis showed no problem. then started clomid 50 mg again and 100mg.. egg did not grow beyond 10 mm.now my doc has put me on letrozole....as this is an anticancer drug it worries me and as side effects i has birth defects in babies.i dont know if i should take it or not???and wht if its does not work.
Femara works better for me than Clomid. It is a new drug being tried by many REs for fertifility patients and the success rate is good. It depends on your body's reactions to drugs...I definitely respond better with Femara than Clomid
It only has a 1/2 life. It is actually out of your system much sooner than Clomid. I have done several rounds of it myself and like it overall much more than Clomid. I didn't develop cysts like I did on Clomid and never had s/e. I just did another round after a break, this cycle. Hopefully, it will be the one. We'll know in a few more days.
