IVF cost

What is the average cost of 1 IVF cycle? I saw my doctor today and he said 5 grand (he's doing a study which will cover the meds) is it a good deal for one shot? He said the chances are 50% (I had a baby naturally 4 years ago now both my tubes are blocked. The other option is lap surgery which has an unknown outcome and will probably cost the same. What woUld you do? Thanks

I lost my right tube to an ectopic pregnancy and a year later was told my left tube was blocked so I did IVF twice.... Depending on where you live and what clinic you go too prices vary.... I paid 4300.00 for IVF my insurance paid 3200.00 plus I paid for all the meds which can cost more then the IVF treatment. I ordered the HMG injections from the UK they are a third of the cost compaired to Canadian rates let me know if you are interested I will give you the web site for the meds if you have to cover the cost of them.
