My dh and I were TTC for over two and a half years, we started with Clomid, then moved to IUI's, all three failed.  I had a suprise BFP back in April but miscarried at 8 weeks.  Then had a polypectomy after that.  I've completed my first IVF cycle.  Doctor retrieved 29 eggs!!!!!!!!!!  The recovery from that has been pretty tough as my body went through quite a lot.  We had 14 eggs fertilize and then 9 total made it to blastocyst stage!!!  I had two transfered 8 days ago and froze the remaining 7 blasts.  Found out yetserday that we're pregnant!  Still being very cautious since I have miscarried before, but am hopeful!!

Good luck tomorrow! I'm very excited for you. There are many more who are also going in tomorrow for ET. Then there are those of us who will be a few days behind ya! Regardless, I'm rooting for every single one of us to get our wish.

Sounds very promising having had 5 fertilize. Remember to take it easy right after ET and don't do any heavy lifting. Eat away and keep your mind at ease. God's blessings to you and may this be the beginning of a prosperous 9 month journey :)

Good luck everyone!

My dh and I have been ttc for the past 2 years.  I did 6 iui with no success.  In september, I did my first ivf.  I got a bfp, but only a few day's later the re told me my beta numbers were dropping, and I lost it.

I are in the middle of my second ifv.  I had retrieval yesterday with 5 eggs and the re called me to let me know they all fertilized.  I go back on Friday for the transfer.  Since I'm only 33, they will probably only transfer 2, but my last ifv we transferred 3 because I only had one 8 celled embryo the others were smaller.

Good luck to you Ctorres!

So are you on bed rest for a few days? How many did you get transferred? I bet you must be so excited. Many blessings to you and your DH and may a little healthy come about from this journey.

I'm off to finish getting ready, I have my U/S this morning. They'll be checking for follies.

I have been married 6 years. We had 2 M/C in our first year of marriage and then I had very bad health problems for 2 years which resulted in me becoming annovulatory. We then spent 1 1/2 yrs doing IUI's. I produced too many follicles even on just 25 IU of follistim so all were cancelled. When we could afford IVF we did and my son just turned 1 year old.I remember feeling just the way you did and I was ready to give up before the ivf. I am now ready to try for #2 and feeling very anxious about having to go through IVF again. It does not get any easier but it is all worth it in the end. I wish you the best of luck.

I was lucky to get pregnant on our first ivf try after 3 long years of trying with zero success.  Laparoscopy revealed that I have scar tissue that prevents conception so ivf was our only option.
Good luck to everyone going through ivf cycle right now!  Once you get your bfp you will forget everything about ivf.  Trust me!!!

Hello, I'm sorry for what you've been going thru!  There is hope though!  I am 29 years old and am 5 months pregnant with my first IVF cycle.  My DH and I had tried real hard for over 3 years before getting pregnant, I had 4 or 5 failed IUI's all which were very devestating.  Going thru IVF was hard, taking all the meds wondering why I couldn't be like all the other women out there who get pregnant so easily (and they don't have to pay an arm and a leg to get pregnant)! My dh was very cautious because the odds weren't good where I on the other hand was very confident which worried him becuase of how sad I would be if it didn't work.  My DH and I had a few factors to why we couldn't get pregnant, I have a blocked tube, and a tilted uterus and he has low sperm morphology.  Thank goodness for IVF because it worked for us.  I know this journey is an emotional rollercoaster but hang in there!  I know how hard things can be esp. when people around u don't understand what ur going thru! I hope everything works out for u!!! Good luck!

My DH and I have been trying to conceive for many years (approx. 6 years not using BC, but we thought we were just lucky to not worry about having to use BC) Honestly, out of those 6 years, we got serious about the whole matter about 3 years back. By the time my OBGYN got the clue that it just wasn't working w/ ovulation timing or anything else, that took another year and 1/2. Then when we finally ran all sorts of tests plus changes at the FertClin (which was another battle, that took almost another year!) So, here we are in the middle of this process.

I completely understand how you feel because I went through 2 failed IUI's prior to going into the IVF cycle. I've been very emotional lately and know there's no way to prepare myself if this doesn't work. Never once did I think I would be a woman w/out any children at my age. The worse part is having to "fake" being okay when at work or around ppl who don't know what you're going through.

I go in to see my DR in a couple of days for BW and U/S to see if the follies are growing in there. I have been on Follistim for 3 days and if I get the "go-ahead" from my nurse tonight, I should begin Follistim + Menapur tonight.

Thank you so much for responding to my thread. There is only one or two other women on here whom I've been able to connect who are also going through the cycle within days of my calendar.

I will be praying for all us here and hope for the best. Please know that you can send a note if you need some uplifting or anything. I even hit the gym to relieve some stress (mild exercise, of course)

Until next time...

I wish you the best of luck...you will be in my thoughts...how long have you been trying to conceive?

I have had two miscarriages. This my second IVF cycle, the first one ended in September with a BFN. Actually, tomorrow is my retrieval and I am a little nervous. I worry about how many follicles and eggs they will retrieve and then how many will actually make it to day 3, if any. Friday is my 40th birthday which makes me very frustrated because my chances decrease significantly for egg quality. I was very optimistic last time, did everything I was suppose to do and got plenty of rest. I thought that I was pregnant and was so shocked when I got the call from my nurse. I cried for a week and was so upset and angry. So I am trying very hard not to get my hopes up this time but it is hard when you want something so bad.

Please keep me posted with your ET, etc. I will send lots of positive thoughts and energy your way.

Take care,
Cynthia

Just wanted to open up this thread for anyone who has gone through IVF w/ or w/out success to share their experiences.

I am currently in the middle of my 1st IVF cycle. If all goes well, E/R is scheduled for next week w/ a 3-5 day E/T.

My optimism has been converting to skepticism. Every day having to put all those meds in my body makes me a bit depressed because there are so many women who don't have to go through this. To them, it's natural to become or schedule the next baby on the way. Nature takes it course for many couples out there. The thing is, with my DH and I, this is our one and only shot to try to conceive. Financially, we wouldn't be able to afford further treatment. Neither one of us has children and we yearn for a baby of ours. Perhaps now that I've had the meds in my body a few days, I'm becoming more emotional. On one side, I want to believe that because I'm a healthy 30 some year old woman, my body will do what it needs to do, but in reality I know I'm just kidding myself. For my DH and I, it's primarily the sperm motility/count. I still wonder even though I don't suffer from PCOS or endometriosis, if I can still end up with a chemical pregnancy, ectopic pregnancy, or BFN?!?!

Hoping for a miracle from up above and wishing everyone here will be granted the same as well.
