miscarriage

Hello back in january I had a miscarriage. At my scan they told me that the baby hadnt grown past 6 weeks. I had a D and C and everything was taken away or so i thought. Products had been left in the womb so I ended up with an infection. After the D and C I bled for about 10 weeks and since this time have had a dark brown discharge. Have been on many different antibiotics but it keeps coming back. Im quite worried that there is something more seriously wrong. Just want to get on and start planning again but feel like i cant get ona as long as tis discharge is there. Have been going back and forward to docs but feel like Im getting nowhere. has anyone esle experienced this, or have any idea what it could be caused by

thanks everyone for your comments. I cn my doc on Fri and they have put me back on pill for 3 mnths to regulate and c if that helps. not ecstatic about it but Ill try anything.

My heart goes out to everyone it aint easy but we all get there in the end I spose!! Will run the HCG levels part past my doc, they have nvr even mentioned this!!!

Hi Laura,

First I am very sorry for your loss. Has your dr run another beta Hcg to be sure ALL the tissue has passed at this point?  I don't like to undermine a dr's judgement, ever. I am not a dr, nor a medical professional. But, I have had too many mc's now and my drs always follow my Hcg levels back to 0. If he/she has not done one, please request one. If the # not 0, there is still remaining tissue and another procedure may be required. I am really sorry you are going through this.

I was told by my doctor that I would be having a miscarriage because the baby didn't grow past 6 weeks and no heartbeat I was told this last thursday on April 16th, same day that my mom passed away 6 years ago. I hate April 16th  I haven't passed the baby yet but I have had some brown discharge I would have been 9 weeks now I told my doctor that I wanted to let the baby come out naturally, I have always read about other people having a miscarriage and felt bad for them but now that I have been through, there is no other pain, than losing your baby. It has only been a week since I was told this and everyday I wake up with that on my mind. I am scared that I will get an infection. My doctor told me that if nothing passes by the 30th then I need to call them. My heart goes out to everyone who has gone or is going through a miscarriage. I wish you all the best of luck.

Sorry for your loss. Last year I had a miscarriage and went through the exact same thing. I wanted to miscarry naturally, which I eventually did after waiting for a month. However, I continued having brown discharge for almost 4 months. My doctor sent me to another specialist who did a biopsy and told me I had low grade infection. I took antibiotic for a week. I must add that whe i went for biopsy three months after my miscarriage, my HCG levels were not yet zero!!!

So, I would suggest to first bring up the issue of infection with your doc. and see what he/she suggests if you trust him (he or she might be reluctant to admit that you may have developed infection especially since you did a D&C). Alos, ask your doctor with frequent HCG tests untill your levels are zero.

Sorry to hear about your lost I too M/C in January at 7weeks7days.  Today is the aniversary of my lost and i don't know what to do with my self.  I got my period last month.  And it just ended this month too.  So it takes a litle time. Have faith ours is to come soon dispite what the immediate outlook look like now.  Shout out victory and this is our year.

I also had m/c in january at 12wks:( sorry for your loss sweety.

Some ladies cycles take longer to return to normal then others, you are in the ranger of bad luck ones like me:(
I now at 3mths later havent had normal period, when i think i am i start spotting again mid cycle.

Honestly you just have to give your body time to regulate,

I hear your fastation believe me, i just want want behind me and move on:((

I hope thing levels out for you very soon but unfortunatly this can be normal.
