Just got fired.....

So... I am a teacher and for a summer job I was going to be babysitting. My first day was yesterday and I told her that I had an ultrasound, she knew I was pregnant and having some trouble (she just had a baby last week). Anyway, She wanted me to come over right after the scan, and I did.  It was obvious I had been crying I'm sure, and when she questioned me about it I started bawling. ANyway, I dried it up and did what I was there to do yesterday. She called today and doesnt want me to work for her anymore.  She is a nice woman and I guess I can understand, but it is just so frustrating, I could have really used that money, let alone SOMETHING to do this summer besides sit on my rump (I get cabin fever really easily).    On the bright side, my TVUS got bumped to tomorrow PM, so I am excited about that!

I think that all things happen for a reason, I truly believe that. But, I am still mad at this lady too. What a jerk to as someone else put it, kick you while you're down? I don't know it just seems she isn't very considerate. But let's look on the brightside. You can concentrate on YOU and this'll prob. turn out to be serendipitous! I wish you luck, girl.

I am mad at her.  How dare someone kick you when you are down.  It isn't like you were going to kidnap her kids or something.  Even if you were upset, it is life!  What if you had a death in the family and were upset?  Would she have fired you then too?  It is not like she had infants that could not care for themself.  A 5 and 8 year old need your attention, but not undivided attention.  Her children could have helped you just as much as you help them.  I could understand if you had been watching them for several weeks and you were crying every day!  She could have at least given you a chance!  The nerve of some people!  UGGHHHH!

I am a teacher as well.  One summer, I was the beverage cart girl on a golf course.  That was so much fun.  Look for something that would be fun for you!  Something that you do not have to obligate yourself to every day!

Maybe this is a blessing in disguise.  When one door closes - another one opens.  Maybe a better opportunity is right around the corner.  As Hoping4_2 said, you are a teacher - you would be an ideal hire.

You know waitn is right. When ever I need extra cash I jsut put an ad out and they come flocking in. I have to turn people down. Especialy since you are a teacher, you should have no problems finding someone to sit for.

as for your job...post an add looking for another baby sitting job in your area...there are a ton of mothers out there who are constantly looking for affordable good sitters

Yeah, it is because of what is going on.   Like I said she is actually really nice, but I am still hurt and frustrated. She said that she thinks it is not really good for me to be around kids, and she has a 5 under 8 years old.   I can see where she is coming from, and she doesnt really know me to know any better, but honestly it id me a lot of good, if only just to have something to do besides sit around and obsess.  Oh well, like you said now I can rest and take care of the baby!!

OH man, when it rains, huh???? WEll maybe it's all for the best. This way you can at least focus more on having a healthy Pregnancy. Did she give a reason? Is it just because of what you are going through? I think some people can just be so cold. I am so glad however you are getting yoru scan tomorrow. I can't wait to hear that everything is fine and you can finaly relax. I know it will all be good.
