I'm 23 and was diagnosed with PCOS 6 years ago. My husband and i are trying to concieve and i recently saw a doctor who is trying to help. He gave me a prescription for Metformin 500 mg to take daily, and clomid 50 mg to take on days 4-8 after i start. Then he told me to start taking the ovulation prediction tests starting on day 11 through day 15 and to "go to town" (as he put it lol) for the three days after a positive OPT... I started the metformin Oct. 8. I got my period on Oct. 23 and it ended Oct 28. I took the clomid from the 26th to the 29th. I had a positive ovulation test on the 31st. Unless i read it wrong but the lines were pretty darn identical so i'm taking that as it being positive? Though i kinda of thought that would be too soon. We've stuck to the regimen so to speak. And I even did the thing where afterwards I laid on my back with two pillows under my bum for 20 minutes cuz someone told me that would help.
I'm new to trying, as we've just sort of been doing the "if it happens" thing for the past two years and recently decided to actually try about 6 months ago. I started taking prenatals because someone said it would be good to get my body ready? I'm really confused on everything right now... especially with the bbt? I don't understand any of the charting process with temperature or cervical mucus etc. And i don't know what any of the abbreviations everyone is using mean either.
If someone could just sort of... fill me in, give me some advice, anything it would help... I guess I'm just reaching that depression point of trying for a while now and the only thing I've had so far was two chemical pregnancies. (which i had never heard of until the doctor explained it the first time it happened). I guess I'm just kinda overwhelmed and really confused. I would really appreciate anything someone could suggest or just say as kind words at this point.
Also... When should I actually go and get the first test following this ovulation cycle?
