It's definitely not too late. I am 3 weeks shy of turning 38 and am 9w6d with my first child. We are actually considering one more attempt once we have this perfect little one in our arms. I'll be pushing 40 by then. I have two friends who just delivered their second and both are within 2 months of 40.  I just had to find a doctor I trusted t help us. Once that happened, the rest just fell into place. Don't give up!

It could just be timing what i was told was to wait until you are mid cycle or about 14 days after the first day of your cycle. then on the 14th day have intercourse every other day for a week using the missionary position and then afterward make sure you lay down for a little while don't get right up afterward because gravity pulls everything down including little sperm trying to reach your egg to make a baby. GOOD LUCK

I echo everything EmsMom said... and to add a bit... remember depending on your cycle, there are probably a total of only 5 days (at most) that you are fertile. If your husband has healthy sperm, and you start timing things so that you try every other day in that window, you'll have much better chances. It's not just 'have lots of sex' but quality over quantity -- timing, allowing at least 24 hours for his reserves to build up etc. Get to know your cycle with this fun and easy to read book "Your Fertility Cycles" by Winstein -- it really is great and much easier than the bible "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Weschler (also awesome).
And yes, PRE-SEED PRE-SEED PRE-SEED!!!!
It's not too late!! Just get to know what's happening in there!!!

First off it can take a healthy couple up to 18 months to conceive so don't give up hope! there are many things that you can do to TTC (Try To Conceive) for instance you can chart your basal body temp at the same time each day to detect when you will ovulate, check your CM (Cervical Mucus), use OPK's (Ovulation Predictor Test) they also tell you when you ovulate, if you don't want to spend a lot of money on them you can always buy the tests at the dollar store. Also after I had my IUD removed in July 2009 I tried almost everything imaginable, such as keeping my legs up for 30min after baby dancing to make sure that no sperm got out, stayed on the bottom, since I read that if the women's on top more sperm will come out, etc. But after 6 1/2 months of trying and no luck I read about a product called pre-seed found at babyhopes.com, it's suppose to be the only lubricant safe for sperm, and it also helps get the sperm where it needs to go, I thought I might as well get it since I had nothing else to lose, and I was going on 7 months of TTC. So that month I used my OPK's and got a positive one on January 6th, 2010, my husband and I baby danced late that night using the pre-seed, and then early morning of the 7th. I finally got my BFP (Big Fat Positive) on January 19th, 2010, I am now 30 weeks and 5 days pregnant with a healthy baby boy =0) So I recommend this product to EVERYONE, since I really think that this is what gave me my BFP! Well I hope this helps, and good luck! AND OF COURSE IT IS NOT TO LATE FOR YOU =0)
