Male Factor Issues

My husband just had a semen analysis and the results are in. Everything is ok, BUT the morphology is only 5% normal. What do you think our chances are of getting pregnant? The RE suggests IUI for this month. I have been on Clomid for 4 months.

(Yourt probably 2 1/2 months out if you get started now) Usually they want you to  get a period first then the RE will put you on estrace and you'll get a period on that.At that point you start your stimulants (injections/ pills)  It's a journey and you need to make sure you have a flexible schedule (that last month).  It is very demanding.  You have to go everyday to get your blood drawn and sometimes u/s.  I could have never done it if I was working (teacher so I have the summer free).  Keep us posted!!!!

Thanks for your undrstanding. I just hoped that this would not be such an issue for us. Why can't anything just go smoothly for once? When would the soonest be that I could do an IVF cycle? I am on CD8 now and I see the RE again next week.

Your chances would be much greater with IVF and ICSI wilth low morph rate.  Icsi is when they take the best sperm and inject it into your egg so you don't have to worry about it fertilizing on its own (puncturing the egg).

Also, each speciman your DH has tested can be different.  For instance, my DH had a low motility for his first speciman and it looked great in his second however he did make some changes... no coffee/ caffeine, no alcohol, and (no hot tubs for at least 3 months).  It takes 72 days to regenerate new healthy sperm.  So don't give up!!!!
