Next Steps

I have been to my GYN for a few tests, including LH, FSH, Progesterone and just recently unltarsounds (Trans vag and Transabdominal) and I am waiting to go for the HSG.  We have been trying for almost 1 year. My doctor suggested that I try Clomid because my levels were at 7 and then 8 the next month, which apparently is lower than normal (10) although I know I am ovulating (because of other signs). Can anyone give me advise on whether I should try the clomid or should we go to the fertility doctor first?

You could try clomid but I believe it is best to do it under the care of a fertility doctor to reduce the chance of multiple births.  Fertility doctors do more monitoring and pay more attention than most ob/gyns.  My ob would have given me a six month supply of clomid and sent me on my merry way.  I instead chose to go to the fertility doc where I got pregnant on the first cycle and I am very glad went there now(currently 27 weeks)!!!  They are the specialists and it is their job to get you pregnant!

Everyone is different, so this is just my case.

I had to try clomid before I could be reffered to any fertility clinic. I believe all in all, I had 9 cycles of Clomid and 3 IUI's before I got where I am today.

I believe Clomid is an amazing drug, but I really did not like the way it made me feel. (I've heard of lots of BFP's as a result of Clomid though).

Best of luck to you!
