The great thing about OPK's you can test at any time; morning, afternoon, night once a day twice a day. It’s all up to you. The directions should tell you everything you need to know. The only trouble is trying to read the lines. It took me a month to know the full difference from an ovulated line to a non ovulated line. I us Answer (I’m pretty sure that’s the) brand. It comes with 20 test strips instead of 2-3 test sticks. Ohh and most important thing read the directions to find out how long you have to wait. I know my test strips take 3mins and I have read test sticks take much longer.
thanks for replying. i've been using the ASDA ones. they say they take 10 minutes to develop. There's been a faint line since friday. if anyting it's getting fainter. maybe i should post some pictures...
For most women they get their LH surge in the afternoon so most women will test in the morning and test around 2-6pm that way they don't miss their surge.
I use the Clear Blue digital OPKs with the smiley face or no smiley face! Much easier then the strips! More expensive but I was so confused with the strips. I did not ovulate but the test was so close i was unsure. this month i will know for sure
i take them whenever. most of the time between 12-2pm
Good luck
Hi there! Even i use the digital clear blue ones with the smiley : ) much easier to read and the instructions say that you can test with the first morning urine... They have worked pretty well for me and are really helpful as I have very irregular cycles..
thanks for your help ladies. it looks like the asda ones may be the problem then maybe we'll try a different brand next time. i'll try testing at lunchtime today tho to see if that is better
I just did a test this morning(7am) just to see if it would be a darker line then I have been getting. NOPE
I am going to take a test again tonight just to see also but I think it will be the same
No smiley faces for me yet! 8o(
i tried at lunch time yesterday...and it was no darker but we BD'd anyway. But this morning my temp had dropped so i think i must O in the next 2 days. here's hoping.
actually maybe not...i've run out of OPK's and i'm taking BBT again...it's CD20 and i'm still at 36.4...so i guess i'm not ovulating for some reason.
You never know! Even with all my OPK's Negative. I may have ovulated and not known. I have PCOS and that could make my opk not work. It says right on the box but thats the way my doc wanted it. I may even O late.
I have had some back pain, and I was up every 2 hours to pee last night! Weird
Good Luck
