Opinions needed

Now as most of you know my dh sperm count is very low.  We are going to use donor sperm -- what are our chances of getting pregnant?  RE thinks that all we are going to need is clomid and not need injections.  I know af is around the corner this weekend and we start another month next week.  So what are your opinions?

Thanks for your bright spot of hope in a long struggle ...  Honestly what sucks is that - I have "O" on Sunday early am for the past 2 months they do not do the iui until Monday's between 9-12 noon which I think is too late do you know what I mean?  They are not open on Sunday's - next month will be another month of clomid but with a donor so we are keeping our fingers crossed.  At first dh was apprehensive about the donor but know when we talk about it -- it seems little better.. not that he does not want it he just wishes it was his - I totally understand and am in the same boat with him but if god blesses us with a little one we will still love it no matter what - it just hurts a little knowing that he cannot father a child.

If the problem is his sperm count, than I think you have excellent chances.  I got bfp with IUI using only hcg trigger... No clomid or injectables.

If you got pg before (blighted ovum), than it means your chances of getting pg again are really good.

I honestly hope the very best for you... I think you have a lot to look forward to.  :)

As someone who is doing artificial insemination (known donor, home insemination), I would have to say that baring anything "wrong" with you, you have just as good a chance as anyone else trying.  In fact, samples from a sperm bank tend to have a higher than average sperm count, so that is a plus in your favor as well.

My RE says that we are doing everything correctly, and that baring any scarring from a recent myomectomy, we should be successful.  We aren't doing any meds, or IUI yet, but he will put me on clomid and do a trigger shot if we aren't successful within a few more cycles.  If that fails, we will move to IUI, but because I have a known donor, they will have to quarantine his sperm for 6 months before they can use it (FDA laws since we aren't married, and aren't a 'couple').

Anyway, my point is, from what I have been told, your chances are great doing  AI or IUI with donor sperm (again, baring any other unknown troubles...but I'm sure your RE has already ruled out other troubles)

Good Luck!!!!

I guess the first month is going to be clomid then I don't know after that

and yes we have tried accupuncture I am going again on Saturday for my 1st treatment in a year and about 2 months.  It worked the 1st time but ended in blighted ovum which my guess it was due to his sperm too many problems.
