Ovidrel... when to test

I had the 250 ovidrel injection 11 days ago.  I tested positive today.  Is it still the injection?

Definitely don't lose hope. The fainting line just means the trigger is almost out of your system....and at 8 days after trigger, you're only 6-7 days past ovulation (dpo), which is WAY too early for a positive pregnancy test. Some people get a positive test around 10 dpo, but not very many; a few more get a positive at 12 dpo; but lots and lots have to wait until their periods are due (after 14 dpo) before they get a positive test. Best of luck!

I tested this morning (of course), but I didn't have any First response left (the ones I used yesterday and the day before which showed a very faint line).  So I had to use Clear Blue +/- and it showed up negative.  Does this mean I am not pregnant?  My nipples are still sore...I guess not unbearable like some people describe.  I feel like I am peeing a lot..but this could just be me...and I had major gas pains yesterday, felt nauseous  at dinner and threw up...(but I also get this ...never throwing up, but the gas pains when I don't drink enough water).

Let me know your thoughts... This is somewhat torture.

You would start counting dpo the day after ovulation, which usually takes place about 36-40 hours after the trigger. The trigger should be out of your system in 10 days (about 8-9 dpo), and since it's exactly 10 days since your trigger today, I guess it could technically be either... Personally, though, I've never had enough HCG in my system to test positive 10 days after trigger, so I think you have a pretty good chance of this being the real thing. Good luck!

Hi,
first when do you consider dpo when you took the ovidrel shot.  I took the shot on 6/26/08.  Today is 6/5.  So if I count from the 26th that makes today the 10 dpo.  I took a first response test yesterday and got a faint blue line (me and my husband both could see it).  I took another today (yes, I am that curious...I have been trying for a year now) and the line was even more faint.  does this mean I am pregnant...or that the hCG is getting out of my system.  When should I take another test?  I don't really have any symptoms except that my nipples are sore to the touch...but not unbearably sore that I can't put on  a bra.  Only other symptom is after the shot i broke out all over my face in pimples.. Yes, the things we do for a baby!!!!

thanks.

I would think it would be out of your system at 11 days too! I tested at ten days after last month and it was very negatiave after taking the same amount of ovidrel!!! Looks like you might just have  a BFP! : )       I'd retest tomorrow morning and if its getting darker or not getting lighter then i think you Got your BFP!!!!! CONGRATS ahead of time!!!!! : ) keep us updated! :)

In the study I could find (granted they were using tests with a 50 m/IU rating as "high sensitivity" tests), only 2/6 of participants detected hcg at 4 days past last injection and 1/6 of the participants still detected hcg at 5 days after the last shot.  The participants also took 3 5000 IU shots, one on each 3 DPO, 5 DPO, 7DPO.  Based on that I think it's highly unlikely that you still have it in your system.  My source is an article in = Acta Euro. Fertility and the study was a 87 study (hense the high minimum for the test), but you have 6 additional days.  Still, I am just extrapolating from one study (I couldn't find a newer one that is publicly published on this topic) and what I've read online from others, so I would check with your doctor to be 100% certain, especially if you are using an early result or digital test.
