Pregnancy and anti-depressants.

Hello,

My husband and I have been ttc to conceive for some time now. This month I was on 100mg clomid and last month 50mg, but my question is that i'm on prozac and could this be a factor of not being able to get pregnant? I've talked to my doctor about stop taking the drug but he told me not to worry about it until I get pregnant. I would appreicate any input about anti-depressants and ttc.

Thank you, my doctors is aware of the medications that i'm on. When I asked if I should stop taking them he just told me not until I get pregnant. I've been reading a lot about infertility and i'm concerned about prozac being a reason why we're having trouble conceiving.

i am not on anti depressants but about a year ago i was considering it and talked to my OBGYN about it and this is what he told me - Prozac is a safe anti depressant for pregnant women. Research has been done and shows that prozac doesn't cause birth defects. you should ask your OB about this and see what he/she says. Maybe she has the same or different take on things.
