Progesterone pills to regulate period

I have a one year old and I had a miscarriage in sept '10 at 11 wksmy d/c was on 24 sept, and oct 25 I started my period it was normal and last 4 days like normal for me but since then I have been spotting a lot between periods and not only is it annoying but we are ttc again and I don't know if it causing problems for us. Because the two pregnancies I have had I have gotten a positive pregnancy test literally 24 days after we said "hey let's try for a baby" Well i went to the doc today and if my blood test comes back negative she is putting on progesterone pills 2 times a day for five to jump start my period, will I ovulate normally?? This is extremely important since we are trying to get pregnant. And if there is no way of telling if I will ovulate I was thinking of waiting one more month before I take them since I started temping this month and want to know if I am even ovulating as is.... Any advice would be greatly appreciated

hello
i had a miscarriage at 9th week ,it was missed miscarriage,i mean there was no fetal beat in fetus,i had two D&Cs.after that i had normal periods after 40 days ,now i was waiting for period but didnt have one,so i went to doc she checked all my hormones and they were all in their limits so doc told me that main problem for delayed periods may be tension, depression or stress she asked me to be relax and gave me progesterone tablets .I will start them tomorrow hopefully they will put me on track again and this was my first pregnancy. i suggest you to be relax and happy.

How long has this current cycle been? If it's been a while, it makes sense to use the progesterone. Basically, if you're going through an anovulatory cycle, you won't start a normal period again, because your body won't be going through the regular cycle of high estrogen before ovulation and high progesterone after. By using the progesterone supplement, you would basically trick your body into thinking you ovulated and therefore induce a period, which hopefully then will get your cycles back on track and get you a regular ovulation next month. Temping is a great idea, though...it won't give you a heads up when you're about to ovulate, but it will give you a good understanding of your cycle and also confirm ovulation after the fact. Best of luck with everything!
