Haha. Thanks, I wasn't sure if getting the HSG test would infere with the ovulation or not...I heard it was a possibility.
An HSG is a test to determine if you have a blockage in your tubes. It's not a shot. You get a dye injected in your tubes and the doctor is able to determine if you have a blockage that could be preventing you from getting pregnant. Sometimes the dye itself removes the blockage and sometimes you have to have another procedure to remove the blockage. I think you may be referring to an hcg shot, but the original poster is having the HSG procedure done to check her tubes.
you should ovulate approximately 36 hours after the HSG shot. You can probably take a pregnancy test 12 days post ovulation but some don't get a positive till 14 days. I would have sex a few times before the shot (so hubby can clean out pipes and have fresh, strong sperm for ovulation time) and then try to bed the night before ovulation and day of ovulation. You can even try the next day just to be safe... good luck!!!
You usually will ovulate between 5-10 days after your last pill from what I understand. You can take a pregnancy test 14 days after you ovulate. The HSG should be fine to do on Monday because you will not have ovulated by then.
