Saw my doc today re: short luteal phase

Well I went to my doc today to discuss my short luteal phase he acknowledged it was short and understandably wants me to monitor another couple of months. I asked about taking B6 and he says it doesn't work (however from my research and what I have learned from you guys I am continuing to take it.....can't hurt) but he did say it can rectify itself on its own without any course of action. Is this right? I thought from what I was reading is that it wouldn't fix itself that if it is short it is short. Any input? Answers?

how did they determine that you have a short luteal phase?  My periods are irregular but I can't tell.

I determined it myself from charting and doing an OPK. I got my AF on 9 DPO anything under 10 is classified as a luteal phase defect.

Did you go to a reproduction specialist (RE) or your regular GYN?  If you haven't been to an RE, I'd recommend you do.  Especially if have been trying for a while and/or are confident that you have a short luteal phase.  Good luck.

It was just my regular GP(family doc) he won't refer me until I've tried for a year. So I'm out of luck and have to wait it out.
