Scared to take femara

I am due to start my first round of femara tomorrow  due to PCOS and I am scared of the side effects.  I work full time in a very busy setting and am scared I am going to feel sick.  I also am a migraine sufferer as well.  My migraines are brought on by hormones so I have a real possibility of getting one with the femara.  I brought this up to the specialist who only told me to call iof I experience one. Is there anyone else who is prone to migraines? If so what was your experience with the femara? Thanks!

I, too, used to take Clomid and now, I take Femara! Clomid was awful - I turned into a horrific person on it, but I didn't have any side effects with Femara.

I do take my Femara differently than most, though...I take 10 pills on CD3 at the same time and that's it!!  It works very well for me and it's helped me ovulate sooner (I was a late ovulater) and thereby, shortened my cycles!!

Good luck!

Hi! I've never had a migraine, but I have taken Femara four cycles. I did not have any side effects, except for a little bit of a dull headache on and off for a day or two. That's it. I hope femara works for you...and that you won't have any side effects :-)

I have also suffered from severe migraines in the past.. just debilitating when they would come (however only when i was on the pill) since being off the pill for a year and a half i've only had two and that was almost a year ago!   No side effects for me either with the femara.. i think i might have had ONE hot flash one time.. but no big deal whatsoever!   I do get headaches from the follistim, however as nettabuttr said, it was a dull just annoying headache, nothing like a migraine!  (i did get a migraine after taking my first pill of fertility blend though, and never took that stuff again, just FYI!)   GOOD LUCK!!! hope it works for you! its worked for a lot of people on here! i'm taking my first dose tonight so looks like we'll be cycle buddies! : )

I too suffer from migraines for the last 19yrs I also take femara and my experience is yes you most likely will get a headache  dull botherson but nothing like a full blown migraine trust me when I say I know your pain first hand. I  made the decision to stop taking all of my prescription migraine meds because I did not want any thing else to be a factor with me TTC but the headaches are not that bad for me it's the hot flashes and severe mood swings/depression thats what you should be on the look out for
