Should I be taking Lovenox?

Hi everyone. I am new to MedHelp. I am 31 no found issues for infertility for me and my husband. I tested borderline for anticardiolipin (level 11). I am finding out the rest of my results for immune issues. I have had 6 failed IUIs (3 medicated cylces) and 1 failed IVF/ICSI cycle.  I am doing a FET in June and was told I can try aspirin therapy. I have never had a BFP so doc feels since no miscarriages chances of immune issues being the casue are slim. Any one out there feel differently? I am thinking of requesting Lovenox in addition to aspirin for next round. Any benefits or harm? How do you all feel? Thanks!

Thank you so much for your replies.  My doc seems to think baby aspirin will be fine for now.  If and when I get pregnant, they will retest my levels to see if I need additional meds. HOpefully this will at least get me pregnant. I dream of a BFP..

Thank soooo much and good luck to you both!

i have factor V as well and will be on lovenox when im preg again...right now im still in the testing phase since i was recently diagnosed and not even taking baby aspirin but once all my blood work is done and im allowed to TTC again ill be taking baby aspirin and the day i get a BFP ill start my lovenox....

check with your doc...my doc said there is a lot of extra monitoring when you are taking lovenox because it does thin your blood and they need to be sure its not thinned too much

best of luck

Well, I'm no doctor, but I would think in your case, the baby aspirin would probably be enough. That said, though, I have Factor V, and will have to take Lovenox once I get pregnant again...but for now, I just take a baby aspirin every day. Since Lovenox is a blood thinner, there i a risk of hemorrhage, so it really just depends on how easily your blood clots. Best of luck to you, and welcome to the forum!
