Should I get a flu shot while trying to get preganant?

My work just posted on their internal website that they will be offering flu shots in October. I am worried about getting sick, especially with the H1N1.

At the moment we are doing clomid with provera. I was reading online that pregnant ladies should get vaccinated, but was wondering about those currently trying to conceive. Would the flu shot interfere with the medications when trying to conceive? Any one been to the doctor recently to inquire?

Thanks

It depends on your work environment. It doesn't matter if you exercise or not, if you come in contact with someone or something that has been touched by someone with the flu you increase your chances of getting it. It is soooo easy to get someone elses germs!!! I work in the healthcare field with a lot of people, so I get the shot every year and it does not harm those who are trying to get pregnant. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU GET THE SHOT!!! This year is going to be very tough and it is not even flu season officially yet and we have already had so many cases reported... that is just the regular flu, the H1N1 is a whole different set of numbers that are rapidly increasing. I think that not getting the shots can hurt you and your chances more than you getting the shot, but who am I to say I am not a doctor only a nurse!!!

I myself disagree with all flu vaccines because I feel if you keep yourself mentally and physically healthy by exercising and eating well that your body will do its job to protect your baby and you.  Also, there was a posting by Alba333 on Tues in the pregnancy 35+ forum with other peoples opinions on this vaccine, which might help you decide.  God Bless.
