So Confused! Any thoughts?

I am SO confused. I do not temp regularly, but this month I decided to keep track daily in the TWW. It stayed about 98.4 the entire time. I took an OPK this month because I have long cycles that are irregular, but they do happen. The test was a little weird this month, and I think I Ovulated anywhere from 12 to 17 days ago.
The last 10 days or so, Ive had cramping down low and weird twinges. My bb's usually get REALLY SORE but they are only mildly sore this go around. On Saturday, I had a little pink tinge on the TP when wiped. Yesterday, a little more and NEG HPT. This morning, more pink MC. I took my temp expecting it to have entered the 97's, but it's shot up to 99.5!
What the heck is going on? Anyone know what the spike in temp may mean? Thank you so much!

Dear FirstCub4Bear- if you still have not had a period, and think you ovulated 12-17 days ago, the way to confirm is to have a blood test for a hormone called progesterone, which is elevated in your blood after ovulation but not before. Once a period starts, progesterone drops down to undetectable levels until after your next ovulation. Thus, if you have a progesterone greater than 3 and certainly greater than 5, then you ovulated. If progesterone is low, then you have not ovulated and may benefit from clomid. Ovulation prediction and temperature charting works for most people most of the time, but not always.

Every woman runs different "normal" temps. From what you are posting, yours run similar to mine. My pre o temps are usually low to mid 97's. Post o from 97.8-98.4. When I have had a higher set of temps, it has been 2x due to bfp and one time for no reason. If the temp stays in that "3rd range" for a couple more days, it would be considered triphasic. It can be a sign of a bfp. However, it can just mean increased progesterone levels as well. I'm hoping it's a late bfp for you!
