Spotting

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for nearly 6 months now.  I am 23 years old and in great health, and have been off the pill for nearly 4 years.  We have been doing ovulation testing and taking temps for the past 4 months and have no sign of ovulation.  The last two months I have had spotting almost constantly between periods and both months right around the time I am suppose to ovulate I have had sharp pains in my perineum (area between vagina and rectum) that only last a few minutes, usually at night and only one or two days.  I have had a pap in the last year and have never had a bad one come back.  Has anyone had similar symptoms???  I have a gyno appointment in 2 1/2 months, but I wonder if I should go sooner.  I did also have a problem about 3 years ago I did not have a period for a little over a year.  The doctor never diagnosed anything, but merely said it was probably due to going off the pill and stress.  I don't want to jump to any conclusions and everyone keeps telling me I should wait a year and see if we get pregnant.

If you don't mind me asking how did they treat your endemetrosis?  All the literature that I have read sounds like they usually do a D & C, and that it can potentially reduce fertility.  Did it take long for you to conceive?  I can't believe how frustrating this can all be.

I also have been off the pill for four years and I will always get brown spotting before my period.  I have so many tests done (fertility) and doctors say it can be normal.  My hormone levels are fine, I had mild endemetrosis and it has been treated but the spotting has not stopped.  I even spotted during my first pregnancy.  I don't have any problems with ovulating, I ovulate every month.  I would try acupuncture and chinese medicine before moving on to drastic measures.  Hope this helps.
