Symptoms after embryo transfer?

Hi my wife underwent a day 5 embryo transfer. I had a couple of questions regarding what to watch out for after the transfer. Is spotting or bleeding noticed by everyone ho undergoes embryo transfer (day 3 or day 5 transfer)? What other symptoms have been noticed by others? My wife seems to have  a voracious appetite and very little output (hope you can understand), but not constipated. She is a bit more tired than usual. Our hCG test is next 2/26/2010. Any advice or info will really help. Its a bit nerve wracking right now.

Thanks,

I too am experiencing cramping and pinching like feeling, and of course am wondering if it is AF coming.  I'm 10 days post a 3 day transfer with my test this Monday morning!  I also  have heard bleeding can be very normal.  I am rooting for us all.  Hang in there and best of luck.

The bleeding could be implantation bleeding so stay positive!!!! With respect to other symptoms, the progesterone she is taking gives most woman tons of "symptoms" but they are related to the hormones and not because they are pregnant. It is crazy because you over analyzed any symptom. I remember I did not have any symptoms with my daughter at all and I was definetelly pregnant. Just try to relax.

Good luck!!!

Hi, 1st I would like to say that it is so sweet for you to seek out this info about your wife.

I had my 5 day transfer on Tuesday and I haven't experienced any bleeding but I have heard that it is not uncommon for it to happen. In fact sometimes it is a sign that the embies are attaching.

For the appetite. I have been eating like crazy but I believe it is more of a mental thing. 1) to comfort me and 2) the thought that I be nurishing another human being. However, women only need 100 extra calories per day to support a baby through the 1st trimester.

I go for my test on the 24th and it is so hard to wait. I'm thinking of testing before hand but you can get a false negative from testing too soon and you can get a false positive if you still have the Ovidrel in your system so I keep talking myself out of it.

Good luck to you!
