blood test day 7 after 5 day fresh embryo transfer??

I'm spotting so my dr wants me to come in to take a blood pregnancy test before the long weekend (to have a plan in case I start my period while the office is closed). Anyway, is testing at 7 days post transfer too early?  If implantation was day 5 or so after transfer, it wouldn't show up yet right?  So is it possible I'll get a false negative, stop taking the progesterone and then miscarry?
I think to be safe I will continue the progesterone over the weekend...

hi-
i had a missed miscarriage, where i didn't know the fetus had stopped growing in me but i thought i was still pg.  i was still taking progesterone all the time and nothing adverse happened to me.  you don't have to stop taking progesterone if it will make you feel better until the 2ww is over and you've gotten a BFN from that test.
i hope its opposite though and that it is a BFP and the spotting was just an implantation spotting.
good luck.... saying a little prayer for you :))
