Thermal Shift delay?

I read somewhere that it was possible for your thermal shift via bbt to be delayed up to three days after ovulation, has anyone heard this also?

I looked at your chart. I'd say it is correct. You have a really nice shift. Not a slow rise nor a small rise. When progesterone is slow rising, you don't see a sharp increase in temp like that. It's usually a gradual rise. It is very normal to see fairly consistant temps after o. B4 o, they can flucutate pretty wildly at times. After o, pretty consistant. A dip here and there is normal, just not wild swings like the estrogen dominated follicular phase.

So then even though the ovulation tracker says I o'd on the 16th it is possible I o'd on the 14th... in my analysis... but my spike in temp happened on the 17th?

I did! I am only in my second month charting but my temps stayed the same for two days after I O'd. You can look at my tracker to see:)

Progesterone is responsible for the increase in temp. It is produced by the Corpus Luteum after the egg is released. Some women don't get a swift increase in the hormone, causing lower temps. I have never had it happen myself. But, I do know some women have slower rising progesterone post o.
