lol well im not a healthy eater but if it means getting pregnant im willing to give it a whirl. i'll keep researching online i found a good book but reports on it say theres no proof to bk it up and that they didnt test on infertile women so im not sure i would kinda like proof. Yeah i know u cant have caffeine you also cant have anything that contains hydrogenated oil and u cant have processed meat like hot dogs.

I think the main thing is to eat fresh foods, nothing canned or package.Try to stay away from refined sugars and although it's damn expensive try to eat organic. Good luck with it. I myself am a chip and chocolate girl and it's killing me to stay away from them.

Thats the good thing about me, I am not too big on choc and I love chips and dip. I haven't bought dip in a week and am trying to avoid it. I am hoping to completely cut out chips too. I am allergic to nuts, and most candies contain nuts or Peanut Butter so I can't eat them anyway. And shoot it wouldn't hurt me if I lost 25 lbs in the process!  Baby Center has a great article I am reading now that is about the fertility diet for moms and dads to be!

I found this it might help you out.
Get in the habit of reading labels and avoid products made with white sugar, corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, sucrose, dextrose, fructose, and ALL artificial sweeteners. Instead use natural sweeteners, including pure maple syrup, molasses, stevia, Rapadura (dehydrated cane sugar juice) or raw unfiltered honey. Many health food stores offer products made with natural sweeteners, like cookies and ice cream, and even licorice, although it is better to make your own. Use this step to help you become acquainted with all the natural alternatives to replace refined sugar products.

i have pcos and endo, so i have modified my diet the past 4 months (apparently wheat  can cause "inflammation" of the endo, so i cut out all wheat!) this was a shock to my system, since i was basically on the all carb diet most of my life! haha, thats all the good stuff! then i was diagnosed with mild pcos (but i am a little underweight) they didn't want to put me on metformin becuase of my weight, so i cut out most carbs (soooo it was a BIG adjustment) the first month i did the carb thing i had more follies rupture than before and got a BFP.. we are losing it now most likely, but it did work! or maybe it was just a fluke.. but i need to tell myself it was that since i have been deprived for so long! : )

Ok, so here is my experience. A few years ago I was diagnosed with Endo. After my surgery I went to a natural pathic DR. This is what he told me. First of all caffine and sugar causes cysts and uterine lining problems. Also most meats contain so much extra hormones anymore it is messing up our hormones. They did a study where they took 100 cats. Gave 50 hormone free milk and the other 50 milk from cows which were given hormones. By the 3rd generation 80% of the cats who were given milk from the cows with hormones were no longer producing kittens. The 50 that were given hormone free milk were still going strong and producing kittens. We are the 3rd generation since they started giving our meat hormones and the infertility rate has gone up by 80%. It makes since ladies. I started buying meat and milk W/O hormones, and staying away from Caffine and cut way back on sugar. They did not see anymore Endo my last surgery. Also he said that dark leafy green veggies contain Folic Acid, which we need. You no longer have to buy directly from the farmers anymore either. Tyson makes hormone free chicken and Hormel has hormone free lunch meat. Just depends on where you are. I can get the hormone free meat from the butcher in my grocery store. Just make sure the package actualy states hormone free. All Natural does not mean hormone free. Also watch your eggs. Poutry is the worst. They realy pump those birds up!!! I'm not saying it's easy, but it is getting easier just since I started. I can get hormone free chicken and bison burgers at Ruby Tuesday's now. I still have to have my sweets sometimes and realy need a cup of coffee or a coke from time to time. But I have cut way back.

I hope this helps you all.   GL

Love,
Jenea'

Hi All,

I just started seeing a very well known eastern medicine doc in LA; they suggested (and others on this forum have suggested) reading "The Tao of Infertility" by Daoshing Ni and "The Infertility Cure" by Randine Lewis. I ordered both from Amazon; The Tao book came in a few days ago and I've already read it! It has an ENTIRE diet specific to fertility and what to eat on which days of your cycle to increase blood flow and energy around your ovaries and uterus and to prepare to conceive. I would HIGHLY recommend this book. I'm still waiting for the "Cure" book to come but have heard amazing things about it as well.

While avoiding caffeine and sugar is definitely part of the "diet", there are a ton of other helpful tips on foods to eat to increase your chances. And there is a detox diet specific to fertility if you are taking a cycle off or taking a break for a month (like me). I'm hoping that a changed diet, combined with acupuncture and some physical therapy will help.

Good luck!

Hoping4_2:  That is really interesting !  I will definitely keep your comments in mind :)

I haven't gotten my BFP yet, but I would like to recommend the South Beach diet.  I had gained weight due to working too much, lack of exercise & I'm also hypoglycemic (low blood sugar).  When I did South Beach four years ago, I lost a lot of weight !  I also felt SO much better & my blood sugar stayed totally regulated.  It's a really healthy diet, but it doesn't really feel like a diet 'cause you're not starving.  Anyway, check it out.  It's pretty interesting :)
I also cut out all soda & reduced the amount of coffee I drink.  I try to only have one cup of coffee a day (unless I'm in the tww & then it's none).
Good luck, ladies !!!

Hi ladies,

I suffer from PCOS, though not over weight!  I went to a couple of meetings about pcos and they suggested a Low GI diet, (a good diet to help regulate insulin levels and losing weight as this is the main issues with pcos).  The low gi diet just replaces white wheat with brown, e.g brown rice instead of white, wholemeal bread e.t.c and also they have specfic vegies and fruit to eat as well.  I also used a soup diet and i fell pregnant first go with my dd.  Its made up on tomatoe soup full of your low gi vegies and you can eat it as much as you like.  Im doing the soup diet again for my next cycle in august.

Hope this helps and if you want to know more just ask

There is a book by Dr. Wu in San Francisco - I believe it is called Fertility Wisdom - that some women I know are reading.  If you want to go really crazy, you could stick to the recommendations in this book.  But I"m warning you it's a strict diet that excludes things like ice!  Supposedly this Eastern Medicine doctor has helped women with very high FSH, older women (50?) get pregnant.  BEst of luck.
